  • Full program, Seat Ibiza 2005 ed. (56K warning!)

At the end of January this year, one of my younger brothers got his first car. A leased Seat Ibiza 1.4 Sensation Edition (100 Hp) in the color Ovni Yellow.

One month after he received the keys, Seat brought out the restyled Ibiza, pity but not intirely.... the new Ibiza isn't available in Ovni Yellow. Wich made my brothers car one of the last Yellow Ibiza's sold Dutch Ibiza's.

When he received the car we immediatly started talking about detailing it with Meguiars.
After a few handwashes this weekend we got to the first real detailing program, a full detailingsession!
Together with my brother we fully detailed the car, many things to learn, because he never used Meguiars before.

In a coincidence we dressed almost exactly the same...
But as a older brother you should see I'm the wiser one.... and also the one weighing 15 kilo's more

The car is daily driven. So there's a lot of roadkill on it.

A lot Before-pictures were made, man looked that car dirty!

    Smearing under the gascover.

There are only few swirls on the car, wich is easy to explain due to the age of the car
The ones on it were hard to find, and hard to make photographs off.

Alll products displayed on a table.
Do not try this at home. Just 30 seconds after I made this picture my applicator pads were blown of it by the wind. (I had to to switch to complete new ones )

    Washing using the 2-bucket method.
As you can see, one bucket still has clear water in it. The other one full of good foaming NXT wash.

After washing the car was moved to a new spot. The sun was starting to burn so we had to move to the shade.
When we moved the car, we rinsed it with water to get rid of any new contaminants (like desertsands or pollen)

When we drove the car inside we didn't realised progress would be hard to see, due to the bad lighting. So we had to continuesly attend we didn't miss a spot.

At last I could use the Quick Clay (wich I purchased in late November last year) After I got it out (wich was actually hard to achieve) the fun started!!!

Because we did the car together we could combine certain steps and win some time with it.
When I was claying, my brother followed me instantly with the Paint Cleaner.

    Paying attention nothing is missed!

    The finishing touch.....

Lets see what steps we did, and wich products were used.

    Stap 1: Wash
    - NXT Generation Car Wash
    - Ultimate Wash Mitt

    for the wheels
    - NXT Generation Car Wash
    - Microfibre imititation mitt
    - Hot Rims/Cool Care All Wheel Cleaner (for the hard parts)

    Tires
    - Dasty Degreaser (a third party product, there isn't a Meguiars degreaser for sale in the Netherlands)

    Stap 2: Clean
    - Quick Clay System
    - Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
    - Supreme Shine Microfibre
    - Ultimate Shine Microfibre

    Stap 3: Polish
    - Deep Crystal Polish
    - Supreme Shine Microfibre

    Stap 4: Protect
    - Gold Class Trim Detailer
    - NXT Generation Tech Wax (also covering the trim detailed parts)
    - Gold Class Endurance High Gloss
    - Ultimate shine
    - 2 third parties microfibres (trims and tires)
    - a Brush (for the Endurance Gloss)

Not all steps were covered with pictures.

    Reflection shot, still inside.

    Productshot...

Then a better fit, with the daffodils in the back.

    Bye..bye roadkill...

I learned a lot this weekend. The claying was very very intresting and fun to do. All bugs and stuff disappeared as melting ice.

And another Meguiars enthusiast in the making... although he wouldn't want to be on the picture.......

            Thanks for your kind replies!

It really took some time writing this one up.... but, when you think of the fun while detailing, the story is there in notime.

I allready posted this topic on the Dutch forum, and all I had to do was (proper) translate it to here.... Which was on some sentences quite difficult.
I hope you enjoy this write-up as I did detailing and writing it!
