My large Sunday detail, a YukonXL...

Saturday evening I started detailing this Yukon XL, wow, that is a lot of vehicle! Not sure I could tackle it on one day without help. It had light to moderate marring and the paint seemed pretty hard. On the back passenger Quarter panel it had buffer trails where the owner had it buffed out after a repair someone did. I had to use the rotary on it with 83 and yellow polishing pad, it took me a couple of passes to remove them. For the rest of the vehicle, my steps were as follows:

Interior
Extracted the carpets with APCP and cleaned the dirty areas
door panels and dash were done with #40
Leather seats with Detailer Leather Cleaner and Conditioner
Glass cleaned with NXT Glass cleaner

Exterior
Wash with Hper wash and my Karcher pressure washer with the 2 bucket method
Clayed with Clay Magic clay and Last Touch 1:1 as a Lube
Polished with 83 on a yellow polishing pad with the PC at 5
Polished with 80 on a yellow polishing pad with the PC at 5
Waxed with 21 on a finishing pad with the PC at 3
Chrome bumpers were cleaned with NXT All Metal Polish
Glass cleaned with NXT Glass Cleaner
Plastic trim was Exterior Trim Detailer
Tire coating was NXT Insane Shine
Wheel wells were sprayed with Hper Dressing at 3:1

I put in 8 hours on Sunday and had help for those 8 hours, plus another 2 hours of vacuuming and extracting the Carpet and mats on Saturday, so that's 18 hours labor on this thing.

Here is an shot I tried to take of the swirls on the back Quarter, I didn't do a very good job of capturing these aress, as I took several pictures and none really tured out too well, not sure If it's my technique or what.

Yukons like all other SUVs are just large real estates. At least you don't hurt your back trying to do the hood =)

On the license plate, the owner is a Die hard IU fan, and it had an IU plate on the front, I took it off, and put the Buckeyes plate on it, I was hoping she wouldn't notice and drive off, but that's the first thing she saw!

Hey Paul,
I have a Durrmaid extractor that I got from Rick at ADS, I am happy with it, just takes a while to heat up the water...

35th, thanks, yea, that's my 6 year old son's golf clubs, he was hitting foam balls around the yard... I haven't played in 3 weeks, ever since I hurt my back a few weeks ago, it's been too uncomfortable to hit balls. I guess it stood up to this Yukon though, so maybe it's time again....
