  • My weekend project

Well the weather finally cooperated with my schedule, so I spent the weekend in the garage. I detailed my 2000 Grand Prix GTP with 84,000 miles. I didn't realize how many rock chips I have on the hood from years of highway driving until yesterday. Here is what I did.

    Day 1
    Wash NXT
    Clay
    Wash NXT
    83 with pc

    Day 2
    80 with pc
    NXT Tech Wax with pc

Also, I wanted to say thanks for all the help and tips that I have gotten from the great people from Meguiar's and the peoplle on this forum. I have learned a lot of knowledge here in the last year.

yes it did come with the supercharger. You can really feel the difference in the seat over the n/a 3800 engine when you give it some gas.

So what dressing did you use for the tires?

Hot Shine High Gloss Tire Coating. I spryed the tires about 3 weeks ago. They still look good. I like the matte finish over the high gloss but I got this stuff with some other Meguires products for Christmas and I am not going to let it go to waste.

It looks awesome! How easy of a car is it to detail? I'm just curious because one of my friends wants me to detail her Grand Prix for her when I get a chance.

It is not bad to detail. I am not very tall so I had to use a bucket to get to the top. I have to say the worst part was the badges and the door trim half way down the door. I always get product in the creases everytime I detal it. I prbaly spend half my time hetting access product out of these gaps. I have tried tapping it off but it does not seem to matter. Other than that it is easy. My wife has an elcipse and that car taks me half the time. She is already bugging me to detail her's.

The GTP is a great car, especially that generation! My dad has one and the supercharged 3.8L has been bulltetproof! NXT looks great on the Dark Bronzemist Metallic paint and lasts a few months.
