  • First VETTE Detail....phew !!

Well, I detailed my first Corvette today and man, what a difference I was able to make in this car. My friend has had the car about six years and had it "professionally" detailed last year (she gets it done once a year). I just find it hard to believe that the swirls I found when I got the car were all formed in the summer of last year...she stores the car in the winter and just brought it out a month ago...anyway, it was in rough shape when I got it this morning but here's what I did:
    1. Wash with NXT Car Wash
    2. Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner (two applications !)
    3. Dry with Water Magnet
    4. Clay
    5. # 83 on 8006 pad with PC
    6. # 80 on 8006 pad with PC
    7. NXT Liquid Wax on 9006 with PC
    8. Removed wax with MF Bonnet on 8006 pad
    9. Dressed tires with Endurance Gel
    10. Dressed all Black Trim with Vinyl and Rubber protectant
    11. Windows with NXT Glass Cleaner
    12. Wheel Well cleaned with APC and dressed with Hyper Dressing

The customer and myself were very very happy with the results...everytime I do a detail job, the look on the customers face is the best part. Anyway, I now am over my fear of detailing Vettes...at least for now !

    NASTY SWIRLS !!

Beautiful work!! I guess that "professional" detailer just lost a client, huh?

Thanks for the nice compliments !!!....actually, it's a funny story...the car I did last weekend was my neighbors and she told me where she took the car last year...she said it looked as good if not better than the "professional"...then, yesterday as I'm doing this car, I see a sticker in the front window from the SAME place !!!....I think I've now gotten two cars from this "professional"...oh well!..

That looks great. My 1996 paint looks like that and probably a little worse. Kinda gives me hope.

          So off topic,
Where do you guys buy all your stuff? I always see something with "ads"?

That is a beautiful job, and I love red corvettes. Unfortunately, it would not fit my persona.

TKDDAD, what kind of light is that, that you are using to get those nice swirl pictures?

just the flourescent lights in my garage...nothing special...the swirls were so bad you probably could have seen them in the dark
