After being fed up with the lousy transmission in my truck, I finally decided to trade it in. It was fun for a few months, but then it just got sloppier and sloppier and it started to grind in 5th gear. I learned to drive on a manual transmission so I knew it wasn't me, and after doing a little research I found out I wasn't the only one having the problem. Anyways, as you can see I at least kept it looking good!
Anyways, after doing a bit of research and speaking to a dealer, I finally settled on a 2006 Scion tC with 5sp. manual and I picked it up late Saturday night. I was able to land a Release Series 2.0, which makes it a limited model. There will only be 2600 tC's produced in this color/package. In addition to the color, it also includes a different wheel finish, Alcantara interior (a suede style microfiber product, supposed to be very stain resistant, and more expensive than leather), iPod capable head unit, XM ready, blah blah blah. I got good trade in value on the truck, so my payments are the same as they were before. Overall, I'm very happy with my new acquisition.
After 15 hours I finally cracked and gave it the full treatment:
-Wash with #62
-Clay with Meguiar's Smooth Surface clay kit.
-Polish using Menzerna Final Polish II, because the dealer washed the car, despite me telling them numerous times not to do so.
-Topped off with #21
-Tires dressed with Hyper Dressing
I do NOT have any sort of love for blue vehicles, either. Both of these were 'accidents'. When I was looking for my truck, I was hoping for red. A local dealership said they had a red one on the way, but when it showed up it was blue, so I decided to get it anyways. When I went to the dealership for the car I wanted silver, but when I saw this color in person I loved it. Silver just looked so boring sitting next to it, plus blue would show off all my hard work put into detailing it better. The one on the lot was an auto, but they were able to get the manual out of an inventory lot that day.
I'm really enjoying the car, everything about it is great!
Anyways, just wanted to share my excitement!
