Yes, Another Lightning Detail - #21 and more!

I know you all know what my truck looks like but I don't want the "This thread is worthless without pics" thingy.

Well, I had a chance to try out some new Meguiars products(new to me) in my latest detail of my truck. All have worked great!

Here is what I did....

Last weekend I took care of the wheels:
1. Wash and Clay - kind of in one step
2. Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
3. #81 Hand Polish
4. #21 Synthetic Sealant(2 coats)
5. Applied Gold Class Endurance High Gloss to the tires

Wheel End Results:


Its a dirty job but having done it before its well worth the time and effort. Now I maintain the look by washing with Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner and follow up with Last Touch Spray Detailer to keep the wheels looking their best.

Now on to the truck this weekend....

1. Wash with NXT Generation Car Wash
2. Clay with Smooth Surface™ Clay Kit
3. Wash with NXT Generation Car Wash
4. #80 Speed Glaze
5. #81 Hand Polish
6. #21 Synthetic Sealant(2 coats)

This being the first time I really used #21.... First, as others have mentioned the product seemed to "sweat" as I applied it. I bumped the speed on my PC down to 3(from 3.5), and I never head the sweating problem. Might have been just a coincidence but seemed that little speed difference cleared the problem up, who knows! Another thing I did notice with #21, the hood seemed to be splotchy. So... I tried to clear it up by adding a third coat but it only seemed to get worse. Then I got thinking that I had read something about that on MOL, I left it sit over night and now the look has evened out. Over all I am VERY happy with #21, now I see what everyone is talking about!

I also cleaned and dressed the Engine, I used some All Purpose Cleaner Plus and a Versa-Angle Wheel Face Brush where I could to "deep clean". Then I dressed with some Hyper-Dressing.

I am going to work on the interior next weekend. I have been spreading it all out as I have too much other stuff going on. I think I am going to pull out the steam vac and do a good cleaning.

GB ..I gotta say thats the most spotless lightning ive seen.You did a great job on it..you really made that black look great..iam sure the interior wll come out just as nice....show us some pics when your done...

Great job, your truck looks super nice. I also have problem with splotchness on my black color car. Did you leave the wax on your car and let it sit overnight? I just can't seem to remove the splotches.

Applied, let it sit for 15-20 min then I removed the wax.

Another thought I had.... was 60 degrees not sure if that is a little chilly.

gb what was your dilution for the hyper dressing?? also what method of applying it under the hood did you use?

I tried to spray it on my engine bay and wheel wells and it sprayed out of the spray bottle way to fast. it all just ran down and looked like ****!

I haven't been able to gte the desire looked out of the hyper dressing i want!

I used the Matte Finish, I think its 3:1? I sprayed it on fairly heavy then wiped with a clean 100% cotton terry towel(both wheel wells and engine). Took a little time to wipe down the engine but I am very happy with the look, no streaks, good stuff!
