These puppies arrived on Monday, and got fitted this arvo:

They're Authentic Prodrive PWRC-1s. Overall, with the lower profile tyres my total unsprung mass is about the same, and probably a comparable Mass Moment of Inertia. I'm very happy with the purchase, so I thought I'd share the news.

Didn't have to worry about getting a flat on the way home!

Next up, getting rid of the gap between the tyre and the arches. I'm thinking a set of Eibachs (Warranty safe, amazingly) or Whiteline Controls.

Tell me what you think of the look guys, Good, bad, ugly, I'm interested to know what the people at Megs think!

    Hey Gil,
Those wheels look great . A new set of springs will finish the package nicely!

Sweet! I like how the wheels have a lip, but then again don't. Very cool. And you just have to love that super shiny bright red paint.

        Thanks guys!

Lip? You mean how it extends out on the back side of the spokes? I thought that was pretty funky too, a bit different from the rest. And I can now get my hand between the caliper and rim to clean the whole wheel without removing it

Good photography hides all swirls! My next Show-Off post will probably be me with a proper swirl free finish (bonnet and hatch mainly).

Thanks! Yep 18x7.5 - 225/40R18. Almost got the 17s. Probably would've been regretting it, the difference in profile with these is really noticeable from the stockers.

I like your taste in wheels, clean but not excessivly decorated with chrome or anything. I've always been a fan of a less -bling wheel.

Just curious, did your rotors seems really small after you installed the larger wheels? One of my good friends put 18's on his Jeep, and then next mod was a Big Break Kit because he thought his rotors looked tiny.

Actually yes they do. So much so that I've decided not to paint the calipers and draw too much attention to them. Don't want to upgrade the size though since each wheel is 3kg heavier than the OEM items and my car is atmo-driven. You can feel it when moving off, need about 500-1000RPM more on a given day to get rolling.

As far as brakes go, I'm probably getting same sized disks in aluminium (DBA is cheap here because they're local ) to get some torque back. Oh and then a flywheel, some pulleys, remove the intake silencer, upgrade the exhaust. Get a head unit that plays MP3s and memory cards, and Amp and a 10-inch sub to put on top of the spare wheel.

Argh! Help! I've been bitten by the modifying bug!
