  • Full exterior detail on my Skoda Octavia

As a preparation on my Mustang project, which was coming up very soon:

    1970 Ford Mustang

I decided to do a full exterior detail on my Skoda Octavia, so I could get
some experience with my new machine and my new Pro things.

So I started real early but I had to scrape off some ice from my windows first:

But that was not so strange after all:

Thus I had no choice than to wait till the temperature would rise a little. I wanted to pour some product out of the bottles into some
smaller dispenser bottles and warmed the bottles up a bit:

Finally I could get started with washing and drying the car:

I doubted a long time if I should mask off the car or not, so I decided not to take any chances and started with masking off the car:

Finally the sun broke trough the clouds so I went searching for some
swirls and found them ( of course ):

Clearly it showed I had some work to do, time to get started:

The plan was to begin with the #80 first and finish it off with 2 coats of #21
But due that I had lost quite some time that morning, I know upfront
that I only had time for 1 layer of #21, but it would make quite a difference:

Well that looks pretty good I think:

Here are some more " after " pic's:

Are all the swirls disappeared no, but are they less noticeable yes

Well that's it for now, I had fun and I learned a great deal today
    I just love detailing

good work i think 2 passes of #80 should have done the trick for you or one pass of 80 then one pass of 82 or 9 would have done the job but i cant see any swirls in the pics so

            Good Job,

Also, looks like you did some great prep work prior to using the machines, very neat and thorough looking tape job.

Thx guys, for the nice comments

@Bryan, this is my first DA machine so it's hard to compare
but is very durable and it's powerful enough. I haven't tried
out the " rotex " seriously enough to tell if it's effective.

But overall I would give it an 8
