Many of you will remember my truck from the Autopia days at megs. Well Joe and I just couldnt get out schedules to meet, so I figured I would try to tackle this monster. Well several things I found out. 1. God loves to smite me. Ie Bird ..... on truck while Im trying to polish it 4 times this happened, wind picked up so bad I couldnt finish the job because the product would dry faster than I was putting it on. And Joe was right HOLY COW this IS a two person job. Its not about 5pm and I started at 6am so technically only 1 side of the truck is done, and I can barely move my arms to type this. so enough chit chat heres what I did

    1. Wash with NXT wash.
    2. Clay
    3. Wash again
    4. M83 on W8006 pad with G100a
    5. M80 on W8006 x applications
    6. 2 thins coats of NXT Liquid Tek wax.

this is about the extent of the truck all over.

Now the after shots, sorry they are not that good.

I dont know what the white spots are they are not on the hood.

What you have done looks good.

Those big things take some time, especially in black
See the big picture, enjoy the details

My dad just ordered a 250 essentially same thing as 350 in terms of size its the v10 elt lariat extended cab (not 4 door like above) and were expecting delivery in early feb I have a g100 and essentially everything I would need to detail and know how to use most pretty well. Thats not the problem does anybody have tips on tackling something this large as far as washing or detailing in general? Any tips would be great? Greg.

Well from experience make sure you tell the dealership DO NOT PREP THE TRUCK wash it yourself otheriwise they will put swirls on it before you ever drive it. Tell them this before delivery. Tell them if they prep it YOU DONT WANT IT. Their 7 dollar an hour schmoes will ruin it from day one.

Lynn's new Grandma just ordered a 2006 Mustang and Lynn contacted the Ford Dealership and told them to not touch the paint after delivery or it will not be accepted.

Nice work on the truck Dean, I remember it when it was here at Meguiar's, actually what I remember was it didn't fit into the garage!

Nice pics. That is a good looking truck. I know how what you're talking about. It took me a few days to give my truck a good once over when I took delivery.

Now that I see the whole truck... you must have to detail the entire thing on a ladder!

No they are not optional wheels. I new what I wanted when I got the truck so I went to a local shop and had them order them from Alcoa. they are 19.5" wheels, and 285 tires which make them about 35.4" tall. then we had to order an 8 to 10bolt adapter from chromewheel.com.
