  • Finally!!!!

    Background........

I detail cars on the weekends and work an 8-5 job. I have no time for any of my cars. Finally....this weekend I had all the time I needed for my baby, (the others are going to have to wait). It took me both saturday and sunday. Saturday I was doing the car in between getting lunch for my girlfriend, and running to the store for my Mom. I worked on the car for two hours on sunday and then spent the rest of the day with my daughter and girlfriend.

My father bought me this car in 1996. This was supposed to be our project car. He passed away in 1998 and I felt like I was doing what he wanted me to do with the car. I raced the car for years on Guam's backroad (our dragstrip was recently built). Rock chips, and jungle scratches (hiding ffom the cops) are all over the car. Through all this the car only has 38,000 miles. The reason for the low miles is that I hardly drive the car, and I am always breaking something. I got the car running this past september. The car was on jack stands for two years.

When my Daughter was born, I finally saw the light. This car will be in my family for along time. It's not a cobra or a rare mustang, but I decided to take care of this car and give this car to my daughter (with a 3000rpm rev limit).

looks nice! also, was curious... how aggressive was the burgundy pad and how much quicker did you get the defects out as opposed to using a polishing pad?

I didn't have a before picture but the rear bumper was really bad. It was faded because the sun was hitting the bumper for two years. The medium cut was with the burgundy pad was really quick. I actually burned a 1/2 inch line on the edge of the bumper. I would be very careful when using this combination. oh...I started out with speed 3 to spread the compound and then moved to speed 5 to work it in. BE CAREFUL!!!!

I like it alot. I like the fact that it takes so little to do the whole car. Funny how the car looks better a couple hours after you put it on though.
