I made my annual, (sometimes biannual), trip to see my folks in Fla, (Dad is "wingnut" on the forum) and brought along my Meguiars products with me!
The wingnut and Mrs. Wingnut recently bought an '06 Pacifica, in a white finish.
We set about having the car washed, and brought it back to give the Pacifica it's first detail. Since we didn't know how long the car had sat out on the lot before they had purchased it, we knew we'd need to clay the car. Wingnut had the foresight to buy his own jar of Meguiars Aggressive Clay to use. We made fairly quick work of the finish with the clay, splitting the car down the side to do the work on. And going over each other's work on the other side as a measure of quality control.
After finishing the clay. we inspected the finish and decided that since the vehicle was still in fairly good condition and only had just over 1,000 miles on it, we'd go straight to the polish. Using #81 hand polish, applied with the PC from Meg's. Wingnut, being the old bodyman he is, worked the PC while I worked on the interior with Nxt Cockpit Shine.
While Wingnut started on the front end of the Pacifica, I went around the rest of the car taping off the trim pieces with blue painters tape so we wouldn't create more work for ourselves later on.
After removing the #81, we reached for our favorite shine maker, Nxt liquid wax. After the polish, the Nxt wax came off with very little effort at all.
We did manage to get a few good pics in, and even a reflection or two, I'll post a few more below
Do you see what I see?
About the best reflection shot we could get outside underneath the Florida sunshine!
