It belongs to a guy that loves having his cars look perfect. I am lucky enough to take care of his "fleet", six to eight vehicles, every two weeks and/or as needed.

He is the type of person I can approach and explain that I can take anyone of his vehicles up a notch and always says go for it.

He is one of my more demanding clients but we seem to always come through for him.

The pictures are of his SL55. We recently polished it with #80 speed glaze and topped it with #21 polymer sealant.

The rubber and plastic trim wears #38 and the tires have a coat of #40 on them.

It is as near perfect as a car that is driven will ever be.

Rumor has it that he may get a Maybach or Rolls-Royce soon.

    I LOVE MY JOB!!

Well, this guy has had "issues" that would be otherwise minor.
Noise in the dash-found MINOR noise from dash, which was torn apart to fix.

Lack of power- ummmmm 685 h.p. lack of power? (he said it was not fast-I think he was comparing it to his Ferrari)

My favorite- The hottest day of last year-- No electrical functions. No A/C, the top would not go down, the seats would not move, the windows would not open...... I hopped in the car, started it up, adjusted the seat (he is 6'3 I am 5'3), opened the window, and turned on the A/C-no problems.

I think he was too picky, so he said "no more AMG- I have never had problems with my S600" so he bought an SL600 Disiginio for $115,000.

The best part is that they will turn around and sell it for $75-80,000.

SL65- I have a client who had one, and had the dealer buy it back because he had nothing but problems. Fast and beautiful (600+horsepower 735lb/ft Torque! twin turbo V-12!!)

"No more AMG's he said, and "downgraded" to an SL600 to go along with his S600, Range Rover, and Ferrari F430. (all in perfect condition)

Sorry for jacking the tread Superior Shine!

You have to understand that the AMG cars are hand built by specialists in very limited numbers. So that is one contributing factor in the high price.

Hell, We sold a 1999 two tone SL600 for $70's

MBz paint is usually flawless from the factory, and if it isn't then do not worry-they add a lot of paint on the car. Up to 9 LAYERS!

However, the paint is very soft, and easy to install hairline scratches in it by using a slightly dirty m/c cloth.

Most of the MBZ we sell are black, so I have a lot of expierence with them.

Superior shine- that paint looks like glass-amazing!

This car keeps me up at night thinking about it.

The recent discussion of orange peel in another thread has got me thinking about this one again.

You say here that you only used #80 & #21 on it, but I have to ask if you ever did any corrections like wet-sanding in the past. Was that MB paint just that good from the factory? I call this car the Black Mirror.
