I did a little Christmas detail this weekend, I brought some of my products and tools to Minnesota and detailed my moms Black Acura TL. The car is about 5 months old and I thought would be in good condition. I washed first then was going to move straight to #80 but I discovered there was some serious bonded contaminates, the hood/roof/trunk felt like sand paper. So my dad and I had to beat the stores closing yesterday and all we could find was mothers clay for $16
(sorry Meguiars, it was and "emergency").
This is just after a wash in the touch less, isn't it clean!:
Here was my process:
1. Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner
2. Clay... with ehem Mothers clay.... *cough*cough*
3. Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner
4. #80 Speed Glaze with PC/8006
5. NXT Generation Tech Wax with PC/9006 (2 coats)
I also applied some:
- #38 Tire & Trim Dressing Gel to a few trim pieces
- Gold Class Endurance on the tires
- Quik Interior Detailer on the interior
- Leather Cleaner & Conditioner on the seats
In the end the car turned out very well the metallic really shows in person... the hood had some fine scratches from the dealer and all were easily removed with #80. The photos are not the greatest but here it is:
