I like the revised "Gatling gun" headlights on the newer Mini's.

Hey I detailed this MINI! But I think I did it AFTER the pix were taken. Great photos Dave!

Now you're making me regret not buying one. I had one EXACTLY like that speced out and almost bought it. The only thing that held me back was the lack of room in the hatch.

Those are the absolute best pictures I have ever seen posted anywhere.

                      Great photo work!!

When the first photo came on the monitor, I was like, OMG! The car looks alive........like it could just fire up and go on it's own. Was almost expecting a movie trailer to start or something.

Great detailing, great styling, great photos. Nice job.

Thanks for the comments. I've been very happy with the car since I took delivery of it. As far as rear hatch space goes, there is enough to fit a load of groceries in there with the seats up, but not much else. That said, I continue to be amazed at just how much can fit in a MINI with the seats folded down.

Here are a couple more shots from earlier in the week.

Those are great shots. I, too, have a Nikon D70. Unfortunately the camera is only 105 of the equation; these shots are more in the lighting and composition.

If you wouldn't mind sharing, could you describe the lighting you used and its arrangement. This would obviously be for the garage shots, as the outdoor pics are ambient (I'd love to know where you found an empty beach and such a large parking lot!).

The lighting in the garage is being done with a couple speedlights positioned off to the side of the framing, just to the front of the car. I'm starting to look into strobes though, as I think that would be a better solution for this type of shot.

The beach shots were taken right here in Los Angeles at Dockweiler State Beach -- immediately west of LAX. There aren't any homes in the immediate area, so mostly the surfers and such don't go there in the morning. The state beach does have an RV parking/camping area, but that's further down the beach. On weekends the day use area gets crowded pretty early, but on weekdays (especially in the winter) it's quite possible to have the entire day use parking lot (north of the entrance) unoccupied as the sun comes up.
