I have a hood off a 1954 (I think 54) Ford. The car was custom painted in a metallic lacquer in the early 60s.
I want to do a rub out and polish like they might have done in the old days.
Believe it or not but corn starch and kerosene were commonly used to shine paint back then.
I bought an old buffer off EBay. I guess it is at least 50 years old. If anybody knows anything about it please let me know. I will use it for this project.
My plan is to polish the paint with corn starch and water mixture, adding kerosene as I need it. I will follow that with classic Meguiars #7 out of an orig. glass bottle.
That will be topped with the predecessor to #16, MIRRIOR GLAZE PASTE WAX part number MGM-16.
Stay tuned ...........
