I detailed my mower once, then I didn't want to use it and mess it up.!!!!!!!

It makes since IMO only if you are going to take pictures of it to sell on eBay.

Obviously a Detailed mower looks new and is going to get a lot more $$$ than a caked on dirty thing.

        Not necessarily.

Caked on dirt can act as an insulator and can cause overheating and engine problems if it gets too thick.

I've seen this happen on a garden tiller before.

Usually all you have to worry about is leaves and lawn clippings getting caught in the fan shround vents.

Other than that, you have no worries really provided you change the oil and air filter if needed.

If you ever do run into a problem, it will be 1 of 2 things provided you cared for the mower. One will be an ignition problem i.e. no spark and the second will be a carburator problem.

Fixing a mower engine is very simple to do.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

What, only stock wheels on the Toro? I think some nice 18" ARE Outlaws might give it a good look. Maybe think about a lift kit on it for next season
See the big picture, enjoy the details
