  • My first Extreme Makeover - Mercedes 300D

I've been reading this forum for a long time, back in the days when Mike used ColorX and fixed his next door neighbor's Bronco. Finally have the time (summer!) to do this and actually took pictures of my work!

It's a 1985 Mercedes 300D (Similar to Karug's car, which can be found here) http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums...&threadid=6073

    BEFORE:

    After washing, claying, and washing:

Even though it looks better than it orginally did, it was still ozidized.

I didn't find any painter's tape (You never find anything when you need to...) I used the car's 3 parts of the hood to do the comparision...

Finally an hour doing the hood with the DACP and then followed by 2 coats of NXT, here's the front:

The car is not 100% done, but so far, I think it's better than what I had in the beginning of the day It's getting late...

Took it for a drive =)

    Definite improvement.

You'll notice it even more after NXT cures and the polishing oils start to penatrate the paint.

After a few days, try some #81 if you have it, or one of Meguiar's other polishes and top it with another coat of NXT.

If that's all you have, then, yes it will help some.

ColorX should work ok with your machine that I saw in the other post.

ColorX has polishing oils in it too, and it might help remove any fine scratches that DACP left behind.

#80 is great too. and i heard the second application of wax should be placed 24 hours apart for the best effect... and how long did you let the wax set in for?
