  • my first detail with an orb

ok this is my first detail using a machine
    random orbital sander / polisher

went out and bought w8006, and a finishing pad

i wnated some harsher products, but i could not find any, so these will have to do..

    some products that were used..

here is the car after a wash... notice the slight cobwebbing

in this pic it looks fine..

    cobwebbing again..

this is the clay after a whole car... the dirtiest part was the roof

one side after i used the orbital and wiped it off with a microfibre cloth

roof after orbital and buffed off

    reflection..

    carnuaba wax applied with orbital...

after the wax was buffed off, here are the finished results...

    any questions? or critiques please

my first detail with an orb

    Tommee,
The car looks excellent. I will be using my orbital buffer this weekend.
I just want to make sure I have a good understanding to the steps taken to remove the cobwebbing. Once you have buffed the wax off, you then go over it with a Microfiber towel; is this correct?

Looks great, I'm glad the pads are going to work out for you. From the after pics it looks like the swirls have been removed. Keep up the good work.

that is what i did, yes, altho i will be purchasing another polishing pad dor the removal, instad of doing it by hand with a microfibre towel.

travisdecpm: yes most of the cobwebing went, altho its still not perfect. i think i will need to purchase speed glaze

Nice work. That's the same machine I use, and mostly the same products I started with.
Which suburb are you at? I've got some #80 and #83 and I don't mind sharing.

i still dont really know the technique to applying the products.
still not sure how long i should go over the area for.
i couldn not find speed glaze anywhere, they usually have to order it in.

scrub: thanks for the kind words. it was fun taking pics and showing what was done

I AGREE, NICE SHINE BEAUTIFUL COLOR AND DEPTH.

Only problem is that the steering wheel is on the WRONG side.

                    Nice job.

After using a cleaner or cleaner/polish the surface is beautiful but unprotected. It's always good to wax afterward.
