I detailed this truck for a guy I work with last September. He only drives it around his farm and sometimes to work when it snows and it has 82,000 miles on it.

WOW!!! You did an impressive job!! The truck looks totally different and it looks like it has been repainted! The dullness of the paint was brought back to life and the reflections are amazing!

I'm very curious to hear what the owner's reaction was like.

How many polishing pads did you use for the compounding and polishing step individually? I bet those pads were turned red in a second!

The owner loved it. Since then, I've talked to him a few times, and he has told me that when he drives it into town he gets all kinds of compliments and questions. He said he couldn't be happier.

I went through two SoftBuff 2.0 Polishing Pads for the compounding and yes they were red when I got through with them. One 2.0 Finishing Pad for the polishing, and another 2.0 finishing pad for the wax.

Thank you Joe Dirt, I really try and get the angle and position just right when I'm doing the before and after pics. Sometimes it works out and sometimes not. I've even went back and looked at the before pic to check everything before I take the after shot.

What I do with 'before and after' pictures is after uploading the 'before' pictures, I'll select the ones I want to take 'after' pictures of. I'll right click on them and select print, then select thumbnail pictures. You can print like 30+ photos on a page. That way I'll have a picture of the 'before' and I can quickly go around and get the exact angle for each 'after' photo. It saves a lot of time and you don't have to print but one page to get all the 'after' shots.
