Mike and I were referred to a boat owner to see if we could remove gel coat oxidation. We hadn't worked on gel coat before but we agreed to give it a try and see what we could do. The owner of the boat already had M49 and M45 so we used those products.
We found the paint to have a uniform coat of oxidation:


Claying pulled up plenty of bonded contaminants:

Our test spot taught us the best approach was the PC with a maroon cutting pad and M49 followed by rotary with a polishing pad and M45:

Mike used the Griot's 3" mini on the smaller areas:

You can clearly see the oxidation waiting to be scoured off by the PC and maroon cutting pad! You can also clearly see where the PC has already removed the oxidation:
