I'm new to the forum, loved all the before and after pics so i decided to try it out. I did my first detail on a small mazda pickup that a guy from work owned...it was nasty. Its acrylic enamel, except for the left rear panel cause the body shop did it (accident related) and the paint has dust and water bubbles which are not removeable. the paint was exposed to the elements for about a year and a half or so and felt like sand, even claying it only helped a little bit, it needed a major cut/polish in some spots. not bad for 6 hours though.
BEFORE SHOTS

the hood was pretty bad

the roof was worse

AFTER SHOTS
this was after #2 cut/polish

finished product

Cant remember the details of what i used...but here goes
Quick clay detail system
#2 fine cut/polish (#1 Medium, where necessary)
#6? cleaner wax
i must confess that i used 2 mothers products in this because i had the stuff and i didnt want to lose too much $$ on this job...
mothers- scratch remover
mothers- glaze and protecter
used the meguiars ultimate wipes for most of it.
most likely wouldhave gotten a nicer shine with proper meguiars products, but that will come a bit later. As it is this guy has lined me up to detail his brothers car and to paint his dads mazda MR6...(also getting into painting and bodywork and custom fiberglassing) I did this mostly by had but used a rotory buffer (cheap kind) for the cut/polish on the roof and for the final polish)
once i have a prober PC or something and a good line of Meguires products i should be doing fairly well. I only charged this guy 100 bucks for this cause I'm repainting his truck anyways later this year. his brothers car will be done for 130 bucks but it wont take as long to do.
