CieraSL, headlights were glass. The reflector at the back and the indicators were all plastic.

Holy smokes! That poor paint was in some rough shape! But it was no match for you, that's for sure! Way to go! Awesome job!

BTW, were those headlights glass or plastic?

Hi Michael. The severity of the paint defect surprised me also. I had thought that if I wetsanded I would have gone through the tops of the paint as it was so severe. Since the car was entrusted to me I thought I'd try some wetsanding in a less conspicuous area to see if it could be corrected. Thankfully it was workable other than the front left fender.

It was definitely a huge challenge but as they say, anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Thank you all for the kind comments. The support you get here at MOL makes it all worth it. I was initially excited and apprehensive about getting my first Porsche to detail. Did a lot of searching on "Porsche Paint" just to get prepared. When I first saw the car I thought, no problem, should be able to improve on this and then the owner showed me the orange peel. Wow..... that's going to be a challenge. This was supposed to be a two day detail so put in everything I had into the car.

After all that work, the results just made it all worthwhile.

    Thanks again everyone.

Very nice work and great pictures as well! That is a very rare 930, and the after pictures look brilliant!
