  • 1996 Ford F-350 Work Truck XL, interior

I am seperating this detail into three parts since I do not have time to do the exterior, engine, and interior all in one day. Plus I think the best result will be achivieved this way.

This is a 1996 Ford F-350, it has 50,000 thousand miles and was mainly used as a work truck. I decided to tackle the interior first since it was in pretty terrible shape.

This was only a single cab truck and it still took a very long time to . I started on it at 7 am and finished it around 1pm. You can call me slow if you want too but I could care less as the end result was an imacculate interior.

Before I discuss my process and the products used to bring this interior back to life I think it would be better to show you some before pictures.

Pretty much every surface inside the cab of this truck has dirt, dust, or mud. Everything just looks plain terrible.

Here are some of the products I used, writing the entire process would be a little too long:

    Products Used:

    All Purpose Cleaner
    All Purpose Cleaner Plus
    Super Degreaser
    Quik Interior Detailer
    #40 - Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner
Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant
Gold Class Leather Cleaner & Conditioner
PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish
#39 - Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner
    Hyper-Dressing

Again, that was just a brief list of some of the mian products used, that dosent include th half a dozen brushes, twenty microfibers, vacumm, attachments, air compressor etc etc.

Here is where we stand six and a half hours later:

Tomorrow I will be detailing the engine, and washing and claying and taping up the truck.

You didn't just detail it, you rejuvenated that bad boy! Way to go, Nick!

Thanks for the kind words everybody, tomorrow I am going to apply one more application of M40 on the floor liner and other parts in the cab and then move on to the engine. It is important that the interior is well cleaned and conditioned, after all it has been neglected severely for thirteen years but its a work truck.

Will M40 not leave the floor feeling slick? I've heard of using Hyper Dressing on floors like that, but haven't heard of using M40. Just curious.

                Nick,

So it seems you patched things up with your client ? Sounds to me like he just needed a nap. Truck looks great. Good work as usual. Looking forward to more pics.

The face of the gauge cluster looks like it isn't even there! PlastX was what brought that back to life?

M40 will leave a somewhat slick feeling but I want to gorge the dead vinyl with the conditioniing agents in M40, after a fianl wipe it should be fine.

It's hard to tell in the before pic. Was the gauge cluster face just dirty or was it all scratched/scuffed as well. What type of applicator did you use on that with the PlastX?

It was pretty dirty ,and scratched up too. I used a piece of terry cloth with the PlastX, it did not completly remove everything but it came out much better.
