  • before and after pics

This was my first real detail with the pc, I have done stuff by hand, but have not gotten these results before. Here are a few pics:

Before and after, these are the products i used. (Right side was polished)

Another before and after, you could see were my tape was. (Left side was polished)

A shot of the hood before polishing, these are the swirls that i was up against.

After polishing, this shot was taken the next day.

Let me know what you guys think! I am so amazed at how well these products work, I feel like i am cheating. i'll post more pics when i'm all done. I'm doing it little by little, as i get the time.

p.s. I would like to Thank Meguiar's, and there Customer Care Center.

Finish looks great. Is that a 3 series BMW? How is the paint on those? A friend wants me to fix his mistakes on his m3.

well i like #80, it leaves the finish looking pretty wet. a few passes really cleans up after dacp. however, i put up another post on this topic to look for other alternatives. i'm pretty new to this stuff, and enjoy experimenting, and trying new stuff.

got some time today to polish the passenger side door, let me know what you think! i'll have to pick up some scratch-x to take care of those scratches under the handles.(anyone know if scrach-x will stain the handles?) i better tape them anyway.
ok here are the pics i took:

a pic of the handle before:

the handle after, notice the underside scratches still remain:

here are pics of the door after polishing: (i used that bag around the mirror)

Here are a few more pics, after finishing with #80.

before area is top left above handle, the rest of the door is polished:

after pic of the front: the entire front was replaced and repainted about 3 years ago. there are some nice size chips on the hood and front fenders. bad paint, or prep work. thats another story though!

I'll post more pictures when i'm done sealing and waxing..

Dude--no offense but you MUST make an effort to take after pics in relatively the same light/proximity. Probably 90% of cars look fine from a distance but close up under decent light tells a different story. I see it quite a bit with before and afters. If its too dark the same day--then wait till the next day at the same time.

here are some more before and after pics of my second detail with pc.

                          Car before:

                          Car after #83, #80, VM, EX-P.
used A2Z and AIO on wheels
                          EO Wet on tires.
303 on plastic surrounding bottom of car.

I used car soap and tooth brush, to clean plastic side skirts, but it really didn't cut it. anything out there i could try?

Edit: I hope these pics are welcome here? I see no replies? I know I did not use all Meguiar's products. But I did use Meguiars to polish out scratches and swirls. Anyone?

The product(s) you used are irrelevant, it's the passion and effort that you put into the car that matters. I tend to agree about the before & afters being under as similar as possible lighting conditions, but the first few side-by-side pics tell us how much you've accomplished.

Car wash soap isn't usually strong enough to tackle lower body build up. I would suggest keeping the toothbrush, but substituting a good APC instead of wash soap.

PS: Is that wax build up on the base of the antenna I see?
