  • Toyota Starlet '86 with single stage red paint

    Hi,

This was our toughest task ever. The 1986 Toyota car with the single stage paint had tons of oxidation around the body to say the least. Well, the pictures (before and after) I hope can tell the real challenge we faced. GlamSlam, our garage name, says hello to all of u. Thanks to all Mikes there in Meguiars HQ and also to TimG for your helps.

There's code behind the scenes for pictures, they're just not showing up?

Example, the below is between the correct IMG tags?

I didnt realize they are not showing up since everytime i open it the pictures are there for me. Is that because I did not have them in the galery? If im not mistaken ive read that we need to have pictures in the galery first and then we can somehow link them into the threads?

Thanks guys for letting me know.

          Here is a Link:
          How To Post Pictures

If you have the photos on a different website or even on Meguiars Online, try going to the large photo and right click it. If in that little menu it gives you an option of copy image location then do that. Then in your reply or post you will see an icon with mountians, pressing that. Next press ctrl and v. then click okay. the photo should then appear in the post.

                          p.s.

Tweaked your code a little to make the full size images show up, basically removed this _m from the very end of the file name for the image which forces a Thumbnail photo to appear instead of the full size photo.

Thanks man! I used 3m and meguiars products, and few IPOs for my cutting foam pad. We also used the meguiars' burgundy cutting pad since i think it is a bit softer than IPO's.

Started from the extra cut, compound power cleaner, cut and polish and finished with swirl remover and wax. We also mixed and matched the combo to gradually eliminate the barriers such us the very deep oxidation. Afraid of having the coat too thin, we cut too much on the top of the backdoor (not shown), creating a small cut on the paint (too bad). Overall, we applied more than 10 times and we used a lot of juice to lessen the friction.

For us, the task was overwhelming to say the least but we are glad its over, and are ready for the new ones.

Thanks carfire for being the first timer to let me know of the problem with the pictures. (for a second, i thought the work was so ugly none of you dared commenting).

And as always, thanks to you Mike. You are always there to help. Big time appreciation from me and GlamSlam.

We think that both offer different challenges. To me, it is easier to work on a clear coated base if the coat is still safe to play with. But if it is too thin, i'd rather work on the single stage paint. Hey u know the pads are all turning to different color after single stage work, aint that fun we have new colored pads?

I dont know why, the more I look at the pictures, i sure see the clear coated paint. Or maybe because we did the work...we appreciate it too much. LOL.
