I had the opportunity to do a complete detail on a blue chevy silverado truck for a young man who is stationed in Bagdad, Iraq. He may have an opportunity to come home soon and his mom wanted to get his truck detailed. The truck had set in the yard under trees for more than a year. It had a lot of sap on it but I was able to get it all off before trying to restore the finish.
The above picture is of the truck after it had been washed but before any restoration had been done to the paint.
The above picture is of the truck after a complete detail. I was able to keep the truck for about three weeks so that I could work on it in the evening and on weekends as time would allow.
This picture shows the reflection on the passenger side of the truck.
Detail Procedure
Wash with Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo
Clay with Meguiars mild clay
Clean paint with Meguiars "Step 2" Paint Cleaner
Polish using Meguiars #83 with DA Polisher and polishing pad
Wax (two coats) with Meguiars Gold Class Liquid Wax.
Dress tires and mouldings with Meguiars Rubber and Vinyl Protectant
