    Now that's an Extreme Makeover!

In my opinion, this is the kind of work that elevates the conception of detailing cars from wax-on, wax-off, to an art unto itself, as in The Art of Polishing Paint. Not only did you do all of the work which is an incredible amount of work, perspiration and inspiration, but you stopped in the middle of your process to take photos to document the before and after results, and then took the time write-up your process step-by-step for others to learn from.

But the products actually don't do anything by themselves, it's the person behind the applicator pad, or the polisher, or the microfiber that makes the magic happen with our products.

I don't do this one very often...

    Great work Tim!

      Nice job!

One question though...why no upclose shots with the light, like in the before pics?
I wanted to see how well all that work corrected the problems from the before pics.

Quite simply, if you have done a detail job of this magnitude, your mind is set on fixing the damage on not worrying about taking photos or where you had a light set-up for the 'before' photo you took 14 hours ago. Moreover, using a halogen light to show the results is not the same as using the Sun. The sun will not hide any flaws as the entire panel is now in full view. Not so with the halogen. Hence the reason I used the sun shots.

But here are a few close-ups of the work:

Just in case you missed the before shots, here is the same door as the above:

                        Tim,
amazing work! That is really something to be proud of as the pictures are pretty stunning... Was there anything you could do to help the moldings on the side?

The color of that truck looks great and you really set it off!

                        GREAT JOB!

                          Hey jimbo,

I cleaned the tires using Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner diluted at 4:1. I sprayed it on to 2 tires at a time, allowed about a minute or so, then scrubbed using a Meguiar's Tire Brush. To top the tires, I used Meguiar's All Season Dressing, my favorite tire dressing!!

                            Hi Tom,

                            Thanks for the compliment!

I did try some #80 to see if the TS Oils would help to lighten the damage. It helped slightly, but not much. The burn is right through the paint and into the composite material below. Now that the truck looks so good, that molding really stands out badly. The owner told me that he was going to have the molding removed and replaced. I hope he does!
