Ok, well right now I don't have the time/money/supplies/strength to do my whole car, so I did the hood and the roof. It is a 92 Plymouth Laser, and a repaint. It was a single stage paint and severly oxidized. The roof came out better than the hood because I used a better technique so I'll be posting pictures of that, maybe I will post before and after of the whole car if I get a chance to finish. Anyway here is what I did:

    *DC Car wash
    *Quick Clay System
*DC #1 on a terry rag
    *DC #2
*GC paste wax (Does anyone know if this will hurt my paint, it is a clearcoat wax, and mine is single stage paint. It was the only wax I had at the time so I used it anyway)

Also, I don't really have any before pics, but plenty of during with the results side by side.

    Before/During of Roof:

If you look at the reflection of the garage door you can see where I stopped to take the picture:

Top left is the before, but the picture doesn't show the color well:

This is after DC #1, nothing else:

    After polish/wax:

Anyway, this is my first attempt at an "extereme makeover" and it went well. The only bad part is that night it rained and my car was outside, it was supposed to be clear all week, I was waiting to apply the second coat the next day. Oh well.

Your results will improve expenentially if you'll use a Dual Action polisher (not the Sears or Craftsman orbitals).

These are easy to use and your reflections will clear up as well. You had a matte finish, now you have reflections but still milky. Only a machine can clear it up, so don't hesitate, buy a DA, some new products and you'll be even happier!

Nice job! I know what you are working with; I don't have the money for a DA right now either (at least I'm guessing that's why you don't have one....forgive me if I'm wrong). It's kinda hard to get great results with just a lot of work by hand, but you did pretty well.

Yea, thats why I don't have a DA. I'm a highschool student working two jobs trying to save for college next semester so I have to use what I can afford and try to keep my money tight. Right now I have the money for one, but college is more important.

Also, that was only one application of DC #1, which isn't too agressive, but then again that is the third or fourth time that I have applied it since I had the car. It was so bad when I got it that I could rub it with my finger and the oxidation would come off.
