As a one-stepper or quick two-step it's a fine product. What are you planning on using it for?

I use 66 with a Rotary and love the stuff, never used it yet with just a PC.

Here is a pic of my brother in laws Jeep that I did with 66 and followed it with 21 on the PC:

Here's another pic of a 1993 Grand Am I did, I clayed and just used 66 on a rotary:

a great one step product, easy on+off, nice gloss finish.

I apply it by hand and the results are satisfactory to me
        ( I like it )

I used it on an old Chevy Geo that my mother's boyfriend has gratiously donated to me for Rotary Practice. I have not gotten around to putting the rotary on it yet and it looks to be several more weeks before I start. In the meantime, I wanted to at least wash it and get a coat of wax on it. Mike P recommended the #66 as a quick fix/one step cleaner wax.
I ran with the recommendation and washed then applied the #66 with the DA/9006 Pad. It did what I wanted. It put a coat over the paint for the time being.

As far as looks go, there was nothing I found special, but I wasn't looking for that.

This car has major problems and needs rotary work severly, even that may not cut it. I applied the #66 to this thing that has probably sat for about 2 years and only got washed once or twice. I washed then applied #66 without claying, as I intend on doing that later.

For my purposes, #66 likely won't be used for anything other than uncared for daily drivers and/or work vehicles whose owners tend to only wax once or twice a year and don't want to bother going through the clay>clean> poish thing.

It's a quick one stepper that will yeild decent results. I have only had it on there for a few days now so can't comment on how it holds up. As far as Beauty goes. If I had done the application properly I probably would have yeilded better results. But having done it half-way, I got a half-way job. It's waxed, it does look waxed. It's protected and that was my goal with it.

Don't mistake my enthusiasm for experience.

                Thanks Dragpakmach,
I like it, because it's fairly aggressive, I think it's the same as 80 is on the cutting ability and I also think it's Meguiars most aggressive cleaner wax. I should state, that I have always washed and clayed the cars I have used it on first, then 66. I use it to save time mostly. It's not a replacement for the typical Polish, Glaze, and Wax in separate steps, but it's not bad IMO. It looks good by itself and also looks good with a topper such as 21. Mike P. or someone with more knowledge maybe able to shed more light on it's protection abilities.

I used #66 for the first time today via PC/W8006 and have to say I think it's a fantastic product. My Mum's partner's car (BMW 530d in a sort of green/grey colour) had some pretty bad water spotting on the trunk lid, and because he never washes or looks after his car in anyway, I couldn't be bothered to do multiple step process.

I clayed then used #66 and am pretty astonished by the results - all the water spots had gone along with a few swirl marks, and it left behind a nice gloss and really slick surface.

I bought this product on a whim for my one-step clients and am happy to say it fits the bill perfectly - I can see it getting a lot of use in the near future. It's also a bonus that it smells great as well!

                  Ben

The name is correct Quick Detailer... it is a cleaner/wax. I agree the name is a little confusing. I think the idea behind it is for using in large quantities. At dealers or large vehicles, something like that.

I have used it many times works very well. I like the gallon size and its fairly inexpensive. Didn't quite know what to expect from the product but I like it.

Yes, that one is Meguiar's most aggressive cleaner/wax. The product will leave a good shine when it's done.

We used it with an orbital polisher on "auction cleanups" for the dealers who just wanted an improvement on the finish before it was wholesaled. If it was necessary, we used it with a rotary and a wool pad, but that was only for the basket cases. That combo will leave marks on the finish. If any of you have been to a dealer auto auction, you know that swirls are the norm<---sad, really

As the name implies, it is quick. One of our local auto auctions was using the product as a mainstay for their "cleanups". They expect a guy running the polisher to get 10 or more vehicles done per day.

It works equally well by hand, orbital, DA, and even rotary (swirls with the rotary and wool). It tended to gum up a foam pad, so we used wool, given the situation.
See the big picture, enjoy the details

Gee, I can’t imagine why you’d find that confusing.

I used to think that the name was pretty dumb (OK, personally, I still do) but if you think about it relatively few customers (like us Meguiar’s enthusiasts) are likely to see both products.

Quik Detailer is in the consumer line and sold through normal consumer retailers. #66 Quick Detailer is intended for high volume commercial operations and sold through PBE channels. Their customers are likely to use #34 Final Inspection for “QDing” and may never see anything in “the maroon bottles”.

So I guess it’s not too dumb to too many customers.

Well Ive used #66 on a few cars now and it works well on the low end detail.Meaning its my answer for Quick wax on basic detail jobs.It looks good on any color and gives basic protection. For the money and the size(1 gallon) its worth it.Thanks for all the replies guys.
