  • Tried #95 yet?

I'm wondering if anyone has tried #95 yet? With all the excitement of #105, I think we may be missing on a great product here.

It's supposed to be the same technology but with the traditional worktime of the compounds/polishes..........right?

M95 uses the same abrasive technology as M105 but as Jason Rose tells it, "it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that M105 offers", that is it doesn't finish out as well as M105. It's targeted at the body shop industry for people that want a fast cutting compound and are not as concerned about finish quality, it's more of a traditional, normal cutting compound.

      Re: Tried #95 yet?

I'll just add to this post instead of making a new one...

I just tried M95 today and all I could say was WOW... it worked great at correcting swirl marks and left an amazing finish... not LSP ready but when not worked fully you could avoid some of the tiny swirling it leaves behind, but even these are EASILY picked up by M80 or 82 on either 9006 or 8006 pad

I used my Makita with a Lake Country PFW pad and I just loved the work time of the polish... I could easily do 7-10 passes at 1200-1500rpm.

Unless I was completely using M105 wrong before (I only used it for about an hour so far) M95 finished down much better than M105 with the same speeds and pads... M105 left a great finish to be followed by a finishing or medium polish, but it was very hazy and swirled up from the polish/pad combo... still easily cleaned up with M80/8006, but the finish after M95/pfw was much clearer than M105/pfw.

In short, amazing product and will definitely be my 1 of 2 go-to aggressive poishes.

        Re: Tried #95 yet?

I have tried it for 2 jobs. Not whole car but per panel work only. All was on resprayed paint (non ceramiclear)
I wet sanded the surface with 2000grit then finish with 3000grit.
Worked on LC wool pad on speeds from 1-1.8k rpm on the dewalt. constant pressure. Moderate dust. I found that the 1st pass cleared the sanding marks. Its was not perfect but it was shinny enough. Working time was also good - around 5-6 passes. No gumming issue during my testing.

Finishing on this compound quite good. At a glance it would be ready for LSP. But I found some very fine swirls after IPA wipedown. Might be my method is again wrong.

I do know that this stuff works fast! and I like it! Its a keeper!!

I have read other places that #95 works great with a PC, work in time is longer then #105. Finishes well, does a great job on swirl removal
