40 is a very different smell, it smells very professional IMO.

its not recommended to be used on leather,

stick to the 2 step leather care system or Meguiars Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner, comes in a spray, a cream, and a wipes version

just found this thread as i was browsing around...i absolutely LOVE M40..i too buy it in gallon form...i use it on everything !! All exterior Trim, dashboards, door panels...however my favorite is under the hood...i use a brush to spread it around...it dries really quickly and leaves an amazing clean gloss...and it doesnt dry greasy !! M40 is my favorite

Most of he comments here are focused on the interior and it looks like it does a great job. I've been using Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Protectant inside and out and in general this is one of the best products I've found.

                  1. How does Meguiar's #40 compare to Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Protectant?

                  2. Can Meguiar's #40 be used on exterior trim?

                  3. How long will it last?

                    1. I too own NXT tech protect and its probably the highest gloss i think meguiars makes for an interior protecant, even more than HD at 1:1. Compared to #40, NXT tech protect deffintely is much glossier. #40 leaves a more natural, medium gloss, NXT TP is more artificial, kind of like a damn thats shiny ! oh and also to mention #40 is more of a straight liquid while NXT TP is a little thicker, more creamier.

                    2. #40 can be used on all exterior trim, in fact i use it on all my trim ! its just so easy to apply, becasue of how thin it is as a liquid, you spray some onto an applicator pad or brush and it lasts you a while before you need to repsray.

                    3. #40 will last a while on interiors with no problems, the best part about it is that its a cleaner/conditioner so if you ever spill something on a dash board, door panel, etc..you just #40 to clean it up ! The only downside to using #40 on exterior trim, is that its water based, so as soon as it rains, or you wash, it all comes right off. but that doesnt bother me at all being that i dont have much trim and how fast #40 is to apply, you can get all the trim done in no time.
