    Re: gotta love #21

I used NXT Tech Wax for all my cars for 2 years. Then I switched over to #21 and haven't looked back. It goes on easy, comes off easy, it doesn't turn the plastic trim white, and seems more durable.

However, I never had durability issues with NXT. Whenever people post that NXT Tech Wax lasts only for a few days, it makes me wonder how you can tell that it's gone?? I mean, are you looking for water beading, or sheeting, or slickness, or what? I'm not looking for a debate--this has been over many many times here on MOL.

I'm just saying that NXT Tech Wax has been a good product, #21 has been even better.

I like gold classes slickness more than M21s but Gold Class is not at all friendly to trim!

also M21 lasts and GC doesn't really

This is a good question! I judge durability by slickness and how water rolls off the paint surface when I am rinsing after a car wash. IMHO there has to be some tangible property to show that a sealant is still left on the paint. If the water rolls off the paint easily, if the paint still feels slick, and the gloss is still there, then the sealant is still there. If water ponds on the surface, there is no slickness, and the gloss has noticeably decreased, then the LSP is gone.

I know that wax manufacturers claim that there is still protection there even after the properties I mentioned are gone. If that is the case, how do they decide that protection is there? There has to be some measure of protection and how long it lasts, otherwise there is no way to evaluate the claim.

Back to #21, the surface stays more slick longer than it does with NXT. Also, tar spots and tree sap are more easily removed, with just a QD, for a longer period with #21 with NXT. That IMHO is evidence of better protection and durability.

NXT has looks that cannot be beat. But #21 looks just about as good and is ideal for the daily driver since it lasts longer.

I dont know if there is a way to mesure the protection but here is a useful test
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.

Sometimes the test doesn't work but it's worth a try. When I apply 1 coat of MPPP the towel still squeeks. But after the second coat it passes the test. I have not tried it with NXT.

When I go through my two bottles of NXT Tech Wax, I'm going to try #21.

i have used 21 for the last couple of years and no troubles what so ever love the stuff.for you that are not sure which one you like better, try this 21 with 2 coats of nxt tech wax,7 show car glaze, last nxt spray wax .and do like mike says. "on 7 wipe it off slow and easy and dont try to take it off with the first pass, and use the even coat pad to apply the spray wax" results are unreal with shine, depth, and talk about a wet look!!!

Yup tried a few brands over the years and was using NXT which was OK, but did not last and was a pain to get off. Tried M21 + Polycharger and WOW, been a convert for 2 years now.. as evidence...
