Talked to my local autozone rep tonight about this one. I told him I had been getting into detailing and inviting friends over to detail their rides. But one thing I amstrating to do is tell them to furnish their own clay. I am recommending Meg's. The problem is nobody around here carries it.

I told him if he carried it I would send them his way. If he was unable to carry it I would buy the stuff from Meg's or ADS and just charge them for it. He has been a little impressed with all my work and kinda took the hint that this might prove to be worthwhile for him to reconsider and start stocking Meg's Clay Kits. He carries Mother's and Magic but I am not going to send any one to the store for those. Nothing wrong with them and I have nothing against them. I just like supporting Meg's when I can as the customer support I get from them deserves a little loyalty.

Anyway, he asked for a stock number. I'll be giving him the info on the current clay system and will also supply the new one once it's released.

If only this product came out 3 days earlier. I just ordered the "quik clay kit" couple of days ago, which is going to be discontinued. I like the quik kit, but this kit seems nicer. I'll be happy with either products, but I would like to give this one a try.

Have to go check walmart out. I got outta the habit of even bothering with them around here. They carry most of the consumer line LSPs and a bunch of various wipes but that was about it. Will have to see what they have added. I have not checked there in about a month. Pep-Boys carries the best selection in the area. But they are about 30 minutes north of me. AutoZone is a couple miles away and carries the best slection of the near stores. K-Mart is a close 2nd.

I just noticed your in Mary land, so it might be different on what they stock. Here in cali, they have alot of the good meg stuff at great prices.

I suspect they tend to stock what sells well for any given area. They proably have people that watch buying trends and that drive's this.

I doubt I could ever send enough people to Walmart to have an impact on this around here. But I am in pretty good with the AutoZone fella so I try to work on him.

I try to steer folks to Meg's Website or AD if I feel they are actually going to follow through. but for soome, I can kinda tell they are not going to put alot of effort into it and they would be more likely to follow through if they can grab it off the shelf somewhere.

I wouldnt worry about buying Quick Clay right now, they wont be available for some time I imagine. SEMA is a preview.

And I'd be sending people in the other direction from Walmart anyway.. but thats just me.

What's so bad about walmart? They have good prices and great selection of meguiar's products.

just saw a box of the new clay kit

at Advance auto parts here in Overland Park,KS. Are they still not available?? Doh, should have bought it, they also had the interior detailer in the tub that has individual cloths. Let me know so I could go back and pick them up
