  • Why lock my thread...?

The TOPIC said post your reviews of NTX, and I did, and I still am trying to offer as an opinion what I see going on with this product... and because I'm one who's not in-love with the performance of NTX my thread gets locked??? That ain't right.
Doesn't mean I'm down on ALL Meguiars products...just looking for the best for my application!

And why am I still here someone asked?...simple because someone may offer some valid info that just might be of some use, and it may or may-not be about a Meguiar's product...big deal.

I'm a moderator on a very big Boating Forum...I never would have locked that thread as there was no bashing, no drama, no BS...give an opinion, get answers.
    That's what it's about.

Maybe because people are getting tired of that thread. I don't know!

I was surprised too. Especially by the comment about "why are you still around?".

If I posted a glowing review, and then continued to talk about how much I liked a product, would anyone say "you posted your like of the product already, why are you still around?"

I didn't see anything disrespectful or bashing in your posts, and you were only posting that opinion in one thread. Anyone not interested can simply not read that thread.

        Thanks for your support...

And this is a reply from (my) locked down thread...

"I detailed the family mini-van 2 weeks ago tomorrow with #82 and NXT. The vehicle has been washed about 3 times already, and the finish still has a fairly slick feel to it......No QD applied just yet either."

So what's this #82 all about...

I locked it at around 3:30am this morning as I was getting ready to leave for my detailing class. Some of you know, while some of you might not know, but on Saturday’s I teach a detailing class here at Meguiar's and it's now 4:30pm and the last man standing just left.

I wasn't sure which way that thread was going to go but I wasn't going to have time to baby-sit it so until I get home tonight I thought I would just lock it.

I still don't have optimum computer access as I'm typing this with a keyboard on the hood of a car in front of a big screen TV.

I also don't have time to watch this thread as I have clean-up and paperwork to do and then about a 2-3 hour drive home in bad traffic.

I've unlocked the thread, and trust everyone will use good judgment in what they post...

I can see Tim's online, but I don't expect him to monitor and watch this forum all day on his day off.

So no harm was intended, but in the early hours of the morning when I'm trying to shutdown my computer to take it with me I didn't like the way the thread was going (re: Joe's post), so at the time the easy thing to do was to just close it. In hindsight, this was a wrong decision for which I apologize to you hammerdown, but I assure I did plan on opening it when I return home.

These Saturday Classes are usually very long days... but I do my best in the morning and in the evening to check in and catch-up.

As to any additional comments on the matter from me, there will not be any. Please accept my apology and post on.

              Hey,

I think every member of Meguiar's Online needs to understand that this site is here to help people get the most of out of their Meguiar's products! With that said, everyone is willing to give 110% to make that happen! Meguiar's can not please everyone but I do not know of a company that will try so hard to do just that!

I think it was very wise for Mike to close the thread when he did as it gave everyone a chance to re-evaluate the situation. Sometimes the tone of a post can be misinterpeted and therefore lead a thread in a direction that was not intended.

As the thread has now been re-opened, please keep the above in mind when making replies. The Forum Rules are well posted.

              Thanks.
