        Hey,

        Just to chime in....

jimbo_01 brings up a very important topic regarding the avoidance of placing a dressing on floormats. The majority of dressings, by their nature, may leave a slippery coating on the surface. While this is not a concern for door panels, the dash etc...it is a concern for floor mats.

If your foots slides on the mat, it could lead to accidently hitting the accelerator etc... Further, the dressing can transfer from your mat to the soles of your shoes. This in turn may transfer to the gas and brake pedals. If this happens, one may not be able to brake properly if your foot slips off the pedal! Add a rainy day to the mix, water on your shoes, dressing on your mat, you have increased the problem!

Therefore, IMHO, it is important to avoid dressing the mats. If you use a product like Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner, this will clean the mats and leave them looking like new!

good point 2hotford! I use some QID on my gas and brake pedals but never a greasy dressing and my rubber floor mats just get a wash with the hose and nothing else.

My first vehicle was a 1989 S10 very basic inside and out... had a rubber floor, the person I bought it from must have used Armorall EVERYDAY on that truck. for a couple weeks after I bought it I would fall into the truck, the floor was very slick and yes that did transfer to the pedals. I never thought to try and remove the Armorall till well after it had worn off.

This thread made me remember the seat in my 1948 Plymouth Coupe back in high school, when I bought it, it had a smooth, black vinyl seat in the front, completely smooth from one side to another with no break in the seat.

Back then, like a lot of people, I used Armor-All for a dressing, this made the seat incredibly slippery and you could slide on it easily, as is slide over from the drivers seat towards the passenger side when going around a corner!

One other important note is that it's not a good idea to spray these kinds of products onto plastic running board treads.

That would make for a nice way to slip and fall.
