    color x is amazing.

This is now one more of my favorite meguiars products.

At first I was skeptical of how well it would perform over regular cleaner wax, boy was I mistaken.

this stuff was easy on and easy off.

It really did a number on my paint. My car is my daily driver, so it is out in the weather all the time. Sometimes it seems overwhelming trying to keep the paint looking nice.

One thing I wonder is how often can you use this stuff without risking clear coat failure. Once or twice a year? does anybody know.

Meguiar's ColorX while a strong and effective cleaner/wax, can safely be used on a regular basis to maintain a daily driver. Remember, part of how aggressive a product is will be determined by the application process and application material. For less aggressive cleaning action, simply apply gently with a soft, clean foam applicator pad.

    Good stuff!

My first post at Meguiars Online!

I purchased a bottle of Meguiars ColoRX this past weekend and I love it. For years I have used a similar one-step product called Klasse All-In-One, yet the ColoRX trumped it in most all categories: ease of application/removal, cleaning ability, shine, water beading characteristics, and value.

For even greater value, and since I detail many vehicles, I want to buy this great product in bulk. However, the consumer line does not offer ColoRX in large quantities (one-gallon size). In the professional line there appears to be a very similar one-step, cleaner/polish/wax product called #66 Quick Detailer.

Is ColoRX the consumer version of #66 Quick Detailer much in the same way as A-12 Cleaner/Wax compares to #06 Professional Cleaner/Wax?

Just to make sure there are no honest misconceptions...

The M06 Cleaner/Wax in the Professional Line is much more aggressive in it's cleaning ability than the A12 Cleaner/Wax in the Consumer Line. The A12 is a very light cleaner/wax; it is not intended to be used to restore a severely neglected finish while the #6 can be used for such things.

The ColorX is similar to the #66 Quik Detailer except that the #66 Quick Detailer is stronger in it's cleaning ability than ColorX and the formula is such that it can be used with a rotary buffer. At the same time you can safely use #66 Quick Detailer by hand or dual action polisher.

If you like ColorX and you are doing volume detailing, then not only will you like #66 Quick Detailer it is the natural choice for you to upgrade to.

ColorX is indeed fantastic for daily drivers. Every couple months, I have been using this order:

          1. Wash - Nxt Wash
          2. Clay - Quick Clay as needed
          3. ColorX
          4. Nxt wax

It has been giving great results, and a little more gloss and protection from the extra wax step. Then I wash and use Nxt Spray Wax every week or two in between.

As Mike said, with ColorX or any product, it is as agressive as you make it with your applicator. So if there are any swirls, you can use seomthing like terry cloth and ColorX worked in well to help remove small swirls and oxidation. If you have a good finish, then a foam applicator and not working in as hard is a much more genlte way to apply the product.

I love ColorX too. It has become my "go to" wax when I do other peoples cars. I do what I would call "minor" details as favors to people or to return a favor. A good wash, dry, vacuum, clean the windows, wipe the interior with Quick Interior Detailer, APC on the tires and then Hot Shine, then finish off with ColorX. It cleans great, adds a good polish and a good layer of wax in one step. I've gotten the process down to about 2 hours.

              Hey Mike or anyone else...

How does #6 and #66 compare (fit into the scheme) in CLEANING ABILITY to the standbyes of #82,80, 83?

For example, would #6 have slightly stronger cleaning ability than #82, but less cleaning ability than #80?

For example, would #66 have less cleaning ability than #83 but more cleaning ability than #80?

For the sake of discussion, lets say using a G-100 with a foam polishing pad.

              Thanks

                Hi Automag,

Mike mentioned using ColorX on a daily driver. Three pics for you showing just that. First shot shows the very very thin layer of Color X applied by hand with a Megs Applicator Pad. the others show the results. Was applied with virtually no pressure but still got great results.
