  • New Formula Meguires Spray wax

The Mequires spraywax sadly announces it has cleaners in it.
It was an outstanding product already.

I know no one in my car circle of friends (for decades) that would touch any wax that had any hint of cleaning abilities.

Has Mequires fixed what wasn't broken? Did they do a new coke?

The Mequires spraywax, though half the size than compairable waxes, was fine the way it was.

The most important thing Meguires or any carwax co can put on their lable in So Cali is:
    "No cleaners and no Abrasives".

Get the cleaner outta the spraywax,, bring back the orig.
I'll be with Turtle Wax (26 oz for less $ than your 16 oz with unecessary harsh cleaners) until your lable changes to read:
    No cleaners or abrasives.

Are you guys unaproachable big shots that think ya know everything because ya have a car TV show??? Ya
oughtta ask the specific users of your products before ya new coke it.

Few people here need cleaners or abrasives in their car polish or wax. If they need that, then sell a specific product.

I think your new coke reference is hilarious. Being that this is your first post, welcome to the forum. Also being that this is in fact your first post, you are unaware of how great the company is in responding to customer complaints. Give it a little time and you will get yourself an honest answer.

First of all, I would assume that any cleaners in the spray wax are chemical cleaners and are not abrasives.

Second, since a spray wax is usually used inbetween full details I would definitely prefer my spray wax to give a little cleaning power to help keep my paint it top shape. I'm not sure why you are so against having very slight cleaners in a spray wax.

Welcome to the board. If you don't mind me asking, what type of protection ie wax or sealant are you using the quik wax on? If it contains cleaners they are very, very mild and chemical in nature, not abrasive.

Edit: Chris beat me to it.

          Hi TrailerParkCasanova, to MOL.

Sorry to hear you're not happy with Spray Wax.

          Just a couple thoughts to pass along for your consideration;

I can absolutely assure you that there are no "harsh cleaners" in Meguiar's Spray Wax, or any other Meguiar's consumer product. Whatever cleaners are in it are very gentle and completely safe for your finish. They are formulated to remove contaminants that attack your paint.

I would disagree that "few people" in So Cal need cleaners in products. A stroll through any parking lot will prove that the vast majority of cars are covered with crud. I'm sure you and your friends keep your rides far cleaner than 99.99% of the cars you see on the street but any car that gets driven outside will eventually need cleaners of some sort (usually sooner rather than later).

About the only people who don't need some kind of cleaners in their wax or polish are the ones who use stand-alone cleaners before hand.

Meguiar's is one of the only companies that even sell polishes without abrasives. At least with Meguiar's you have the choice to get you polishes (and waxes) with or without cleaners or abrasives. Most company's polishes contain abrasives, period. Most over the counter waxes contain cleaners and many contain abrasives.

If you don't want to use NXT Spray Wax anymore you might want to check out Quik Wax.

What waxes do your friends use?

I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say our spray wax is half the size of comparable spray waxes? Do you mean competitors spray waxes come in 32 ounce bottles?

There are no harsh cleaners in our spray waxes and certainly no abrasives, that would be self-defeating and our spray wax formulas work amazingly well. Meguiar's spray waxes leave a clear, reflective high gloss finish, products with harsh cleaners and abrasives could never produce these kinds of results.

I'm probably one of the biggest fans of Meguiar's spray waxes, so much in fact that I use NXT Spray Wax all the time on our 04 Black Pilot and it always looks new. Your statement in your second post on this forum is absolutely inaccurate as well as false.

I like Meguiar's spray waxes so much in fact, I wrote a couple of how-to articles to help people better understand how to properly apply and remove them to get great results...

You're breaking rule numbers 3 and 4 under Forum Rules. I've e-mailed you the link to our Forum Rules and also the complete text of the forum rules as a courtesy to you.

            Meguiar's Forum Rules

Few people here need cleaners or abrasives in their car polish or wax. If they need that, then sell a specific product.
Actually, like PC said, even a casual perusal in any parking lot will show you that most car's are in need of cleaning and polishing to remove defects and restore a new car shine. Further, even a casual perusal through our forum will show you that most the questions have to do with removing defects, not maintaining a flawless museum quality finish, (although we help people to do this too)

Over the years, I have found people join forums like this to,
            • * Learn more about detailing
              * Help others learn more about detailing
              * Cause strife because they have nothing better to do with their time

It will be interesting to see which one of the above three reasons TrailerParkCasanova has joined this forum for.
