  • Switching To NXT Line.

    Afternoon All:
I'm going to be switching to the NXT line of products. I have been using the deep crystal line for quite some time. I have always used meguiars with great satisfaction(you guy's are tops in my book). I'm an 18yr newbie at body care(just never could get the hang of it, nor make a vehicle look great. I just finished the deep crystal three stepper, cleaner, polish, liquid wax.I don't see a paint cleaner in nxt, or a polish in nxt. I have a 05 quad hemi/flame red. To me, the truck looks nice, but it lacks that clear lake mirror image, or do I need something different, or in addition to what i'm using. I want that sharp liquid look to my truck. Here are two pic's of the truck.

    Many Thanks All:

there arent any pics. NXT doesnt offer a paint cleaner in the line. You can use a Polish like #7 or #81 and get great results. Since your using the Deep Crystal system im guessing you dont have a PC. So if your looking for a paint cleaner you first need to assess the finish. If you could get some pics up, we could offer better product advice. Also let us know if you have any machine tools or polishers.

Thats a good lookin truck. Wish i was that lucky when i was 18. Since you have a PC i would say use #80 on an W-8006 pad for your cleaner. In the pics you posted, your paint appears to be in good condition. #80 is abrasive but does contain alot of polishing oils. Just work it until you break down the diminishing abrasive but not to a dry buff. If #80 isnt providing the cleaning results you desire, try #83. #83 can be tricky and hard to get the great results out of, but with practice you will love it. #83 is a harsher abrasive and does not have as many oils in it. When it comes to polish, i love using #7 on a W-7006 pad on my black civic. It gives a nice wet look. Then i top it with 2 coats of NXT on W-7006 padwith 12 hours between coats. The results will be amazing and you cant go wrong with the combination. But start out with #80, remember since you were using DC1 before it is just a chemical cleaner as compared to an abrasive cleaner. Hope this helps.

You used a W7006 with #7 and NXT ? Wouldn't a W8006 been better ? Only asking as I don't think I have seen anyone using a cutting pad for polish and / or wax application.

Sorry, typo. I use the 8006 for #7 and 9006 for NXT. Thanks for catching that. Dont know why i got 7006 in my head. Thanks again.
