  • Microfiber Vs. Synethic Wool

I have used an orbitial buffer/polisher and always have used microfiber terrycloth bonnets for polishing and waxing. But now it is time to clean the paint. I was wondering if using a Synethic Wool Type bonnet during the paint cleaning process would yeild better results while cleaning or should I just stick with microfiber for the whole process.

    Hi Wooglin,

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

Do you own both types already?

Yes I do have both Microfiber and Syn. Wool. Though I have never used the Syn Wool. I did not know if it would make a difference.

My idea/suggestion would be to test each pad on side by side on a panel such as the hood or deck lid and see which one cleans better, if at all.

Try to keep all other parameters the same, such as product, pressure, time, number of passes, etc.

          Cool, thanks for the info.

I plan on just washing the car as normal, then clean the paint with Deep Crystal and move on to Deep Cyrstal Polish then NXT Tech Wax.

As to some other posts on NXT wax and black paint, I haven't notcied any of that smear/smudged look after waxing. I think I always did 2 coats one right after the other.

Actually I fell in love with Meguiars years ago when I used the Deep Crystal System on my old 83 chevy truck that was badly in need for a lil TLC.
