  • Highlighting some GC Accessories Quality Issues

Well, I'm part way through my reviews of the GC Accessories with a few remaining. Thought it might be good to summarize some possible quality issues that have come to light... with a couple more coming today.

Anyhow, today, the palm grip on my Wheel Face Brush broke away from the base of the brush. There are four plastic pins on the inside that attach to the base of the brush... one is not there, and the other three came out of the receiving slots for the pins. Not a big deal, as I can probably epoxy the pins back in. Still, I wanted to bring it to light.

Also, while using one of the Even Coat MF Applicators, the stitching came apart on one entire side of the applicator. I like the applicators... but not the stitching! I think this issue has already been pointed out.

A recap on my Duo-Fiber Glass Towel... the entire one edge of the towel is delaminating away from the binding. I have only hand washed this towel, so I'm a bit surprised. As a matter of fact, I think it happened when I grabbed that end to pull it out of the hand wash bucket to rinse it off. Others have also had a lint issue with this towel. I haven't... but I trust the others have.

After washing the vehicles three times and hand washing the Deep Pile Chenille Wash Mitt four times, it is finally at a somewhat acceptable level of lint. Unfortunately, I don't use my cotton mitts too many more times than that before I relegate them to lesser tasks. I know some others have reported almost no linting... wish I was that lucky, as I love the mitt otherwise. Yes, a little lint with Cotton mitts is normal... this was a lot more than normal. Again, this may be pointing out some inconsistencies in quality.

Don't get me wrong, for the most part, I'm extremely pleased with the GC Accessories and just thought it would be good to have a thread to highlight any issues.

I know that mike said the brush issue was fixed. (I did water proof epoxy mine and it works like new!)

I am wondering on the towel have not heard it that problem has been fixed. I would like to pick another up provided the bugs are worked out.

Overall very good products, quality and well thought out.
    Thanks Megs!

I have lint issues with my Duo-fiber glass towel. I still like it a lot, but I have to go over the glass once extra with a non-terry towel.

As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

Just wanted to add a word of caution about the spoke brush. The rubber safety tip has split and almost lets the metal through. The cap fell off today too. So be careful with the brush as it gets older.

          scrub,

Ahhhh...... I was wondering if that might happen. Good advise to keep an eye on the cap. Maybe put some rubber silicone sealant over the metal instead of trying to glue the cap back on?

I had the same thing happen to me the 2nd time I used the brush. I pushed it back on and it has held though another wash but I have handled it very carefully. I was considering my repair options but thought I would consult customer care.

Thanks to the fine folks at Customer Care. One phone call telling them about my problem and they shipped me out a new one. Great customer service. Thanks Meg's.
