  • Exterior Trim Detailer

    Packaging & Labeling:

Looks great. Comes in a nice aerosol can and is labelled well. I like the design and content of the label. Looks like a very professional product.

    Usage Tips/Directions:

The directions on the back label were very good and simple to understand. All precautions are clearly marked.

    Performance:

The product worked very well and pretty much as advertised. The spray nozzle is adjustable with three settings to suit your application. I used the lowest setting and attempted to spray the product on my door trim but still got more overspray than I had wished for on the paint.

(To be honest..I'm not always the steadiest of hand)

However..any overspray did wipe off very easy.

So I changed my application method to spraying a m/f applicator and then wiping it on the trim pieces. For vehicles with large amounts of plastic body panels the spray on direct method will work much better.

I used this on all my plastic trim and it offered me a superb result with a finish that was not glossy but a gentle sheen. I don't like anything glossy but the paint, so this was a perfect finish for me and was aided by the use of the m/f applicator. I just sprayed the applicator wiped it on and walked away. I also used it in the wheel wells and it does a great job. (I did spray those..not wipe)

It leaves behind no oily residue and did not smear or smudge. It does not run or drip either when used sparingly. (Which is all you really need).

Even with the direct spray on application, I would say by my observations that the product is dry to the touch within 15-30 seconds.

Very little product is needed and I found that it also has some cleaning properties included. I had just washed the car thoroughly, but it pulled out some dirt that was trapped in the pores of my trim. Very nice.

It has a pleasent smell, but you can't help but to detect the drying agents in the formula and they are product's that for some might want to wear a mask when using, especially in a closed environment. If you are out in the open or have good air movement, you will be fine in my opinion.

    Value:

The Exterior Trim Detailer provides very good value and will meet your needs as a consumer and as a pro.

It took very little product to dress all the trim on my car. And I did just every piece of trim I believe exists on the car.

The price is very competitive amongst other like products and I believe offers a superb end result.

    Nice review!

Sounds like a pretty good product. I look forward to trying mine. It will be interesting to see how it holds up in the rain... Although, I'm not expecting much, as every time I do, I get "let down" with the results!

We'll see how this one does.

Hmmmmm...... went to try the stuff today. I see it has the same chemicals (Hexane & Acetone) that the NXT Insane shine has.

Those are pretty nasty chemicals (especially Hexane) to be breathing in and getting on yourself. I suspect that I will pass on those two items.

A little "shine" is not worth the risk...... at least in my opinion.

I used the trim detailer recently on the black fender flares of my wife's silver Tacoma. The trim detailer seems to collect a tad bit of dust, but then this truck sees ten miles of gravel roads daily. Seriously, it attracted more dust then when I just wash the flares.
