  • NXT Quick Detailer

I have used the new NXT Quick Detailer a few times now, and find it to be excellent. I have used quik detailer for a number of years, and the new version is much better.

    Good to hear vetter...

Just so you know, it's actually called Speed Detailer, it's in the family or catagory of products known generically as quick detailers, or mist & wipe products, but the name is Speed Detailer.

I'm not a "QD guy" most of the time. I live on a gravel road and a quick detail is out of the question unless it is after a wash to make sure that the finish is at 100%. Yesterday I did a QEW wash because it was too windy to do a decent regular wash. I used the new NXT Speed Detailer after the wash. My black Hemi looked great when I was done. I found the application and removal to be about the same as Meguiar's other QD's. The truck even looked pretty darned nice after my morning dusty drive into work. Two thumbs up to the new QD.

I got a chance to use the Speed Detailer this weekend. I applied it about an hour after polishising because I took a break and a lot of pollen dust that accumulated needed to be removed before the waxing step.

In comparision to Quik Detailer, it is much thicker, requiring much less product. It also seems to give a bit more shine than Quik Detailer but that could have been because the car was just polished.

QD is already a great product so I can't imagine any other product giving a drastic improvement.

To sum it up, it's basically the next generation (no pun intended) of an already great product.

          Speed Detailer and Warm Weather

I really like the way the Speed Detailer performs in warm weather. A lot of QDs will streak when used on a warm surface, but I have never had that happen with the Speed Detailer.

For example, I will spray it on an area about 1/4 the size of my GTO's hood, spread immediately, turn the Ultimate Wipe over and wipe immediately. I tried an area 1/2 the size of the hood and that worked very well too. I thought I would have streaking trying to do too large of an area but I did not.

Since the Speed Detailer is so easy to wipe off, it does take less time to QD my car so the name does fit very well!

I think the Speed Detailer is every bit as good, if not even better, than the Last Touch Detailer. It definitely leaves a slicker surface and more gloss than Quik Detailer, Final Inspection and Final Detail.

When the weather is good (no rain) I will use the Speed Detailer just about every day to keep contaminants from bonding and keep that NXT Shine going strong. Of course I will not use it after waxing until the wax (NXT Paste) has had a chance to cure.
