Yeah I agree, I did have to ditch one or two, but others that split not as severely are still fine to use. The newest ones seem to be holding up perfectly intact . However, I do not machine wash these. I wash them in the sink by hand only. The brutal sun this time of year puts my dryer on vacation.

This just happened to me. Not a big deal, just thought I'd give Meguiar's another heads up on this mix up.

i guess you can welcome me to the club. I bought a couple from a local Pep Boys, only to have them open-up after two uses.

Hopefully the next batch i buy will hold up better.

Are there any differences in the packaging/labeling of the product that will let us 'educated' consumers know the difference between the ones with the flimsy thread and the new pads with the stronger stitching?

I did not use it, but I saw this application at local store.

The edge is not as I want.

I want the microfiber terry to contact the paint suface. At the edge of the applicator, howercer, the thread seam makes contact with the painted surface.

You can find them at Walmart, Kmart etc etc. by the ironing stuff.

I posted this and some of you aren't taking this advice . It works great for everything from those applicator's to wash mitts and anything else you don't want beat up . Try it and see for yourself.

                  Hello there Mike,

I got myself a pack of the ECA too. the seam are giving way too. How could I get a repalcement as in staying in Malaysia? Send back to Meguiar's?

As Love My Ride said, is there any way we can identify the batch or the revision of the products? By the way love the products. These is what I currently use:

                  ECA,
                  Ultimate Wipe,
                  Water Magnet,
Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner,
                  Car Odor Eliminator,
                  Gold Class Rich Leather Spray,
                  Gold Class Endurance High Gloss,
                  Gold Class™ Liquid Wax,
                  Cleaner Wax,
                  ScratchX,
                  Mirror Glaze 16,

                  Cheers...

I did call customer service and they sent out some new ones. I really like this product but I’m not too pleased with them falling apart. I expect the pads to fall apart but after 3 washes. Maybe it’s just a bad batch of pads or thread. Hopefully Meguiar’s will address this if it’s not an isolated incident. Maybe just my apps are ripping open. Hope so.

i'm interested in what kind of sponge is inside the applicator. Is it the same as the common sponge that is for kitchen use? thanks

Wow, I thought this issue was fixed, I just got some of these recently from a local PBE and they have this exact same issue! Ugh

I know Meguiar's will take care of me and that's one of the main reasons why I keep coming back

Mine busted open too, but I think I have the older ones.

Meg's sent me a wash mit as a replacement per my request.
