Alas, my EvenCoat applicator pads came apart after a couple washings too. I really like these EvenCoat pads for application of LSP's. They have much less hand fatigue than the round foam applicators and really do what they claim, apply a thin, even coat of product.

I called to place an order today and mentioned it to the CSR and he tossed in another set and gave me free shipping for my entire order.

I wish all my business dealings were met with the same dedication to customer satisfaction. Whether it be a $3 applicator or a $200 PC you are a partner in my detailing experience. I guess that's one reason I've become such a loyal fan of Meguiar's over the years. You're just as concerned with my satisfaction of your products as I am.

I find this happening to a lot of my MF app pads , the next time put your pads in one of those bags made for delicate lady things it will keep the pads from getting beat-up in the washer.

You can find them at Walmart, Kmart etc etc. by the ironing stuff.

I hand wash my pads in Woolite. The first batch split anyway. The new pads seem to have some added stitching at the seam.

The Even Coat Applicators do a much better job of applying the Spray Booster Wax in a thin even coat. For some reason I have more trouble doing that with the yellow foam applicator.

For applying the Tech Wax Paste I prefer to use the purple and green applicator that comes with it.

Has anyone tried the Even Coat Applicator with Scratch X?

Just got some of these awesome applicators yesterday...

I used it to apply NXT Tech Wax...was so much easier on my hand than using a foam applicator!

Unfortunately, I washed the applicators once and they have come apart at the seems! I plan on call customer care soon...maybe they can replace them or tell me a better way of washing them.

I just washed another applicator with the same results...is hand washing the only way?

They are a great tool but if they only last one use I won't be able to afford them.

Somewhere on this forum I posted that we have switched to a stronger stitching...

I'll forward this to the Product Manager so that he is aware...

                  Thanks for the input...

Yeah, definitely a good tool. Megs sent me some replacements a while back and I just stick to hand washing only for now on. They seem fine to machine dry though.

Megs sent me a couple replacements too after mine came apart at the seams. I used two of them today and they are really a superior applicator. Unfortunately they still come apart at the seams. They were fine while applying NXT Tech Wax. I took them to a bucket of hot water and Woolite 6:1 and hand washed them. I was gentle in the cleaning just squeezing them frequently and then changed to clean hot rinse water and repeated this until the water remained clear. They looked ok so I put them on a towel to air dry. When they dried the seams were split again. There must be some stronger thread that can be used to make these last longer than one use.

I guess I'll call the customer rep again tomorrow. I think, based on my experience with this pad, that there is an unresolved QC issue. 4 pads, 4 split seams, all failed after a single use. That is a 100% failure rate.

The seams on some of mine came apart, the thread is just hanging there. Maybe they need more stitches, but I'm no sewing expert LOL! I still use them even though some are split. They still work fine.

Wow, I'm using a similar washing process in my utility sink and luckily, no seams coming apart ( yet). I even put them in the dryer.

I bought a pack of them since I saw them in the store and I was going to wax my car after I got back to the house. I don't know if I did something wrong or what, but it seemed as if all of the wax was getting soaked into the applicator. Almost looked like there was no wax going on the paint. Is it supposed to be like that? After doing about 1/2 of the roof, I went back to a foam pad and did the rest of the car.

That sounds unusual. I routinely use them with wax . The wax is not Meguiars though.

I had one seam split on me, but it did not get any worse after a few washings. It is still very useable!
