  • Ultra Plush Terry Cloth Towels

    1. Packaging & Labeling. Is it well packaged? Are the labels durable?
package leaves the towels exposed so you can feel how soft they are. All the new towels are presented like this.

    2. Helpful instructions on label?
Pretty standard directions, though most of us won't really need it.

    3. Does product do what the manufacturer claims it does?
I believe so, yes. It is one of the SOFTEST Terry cloth towels that i've ever felt. Its as soft as some of the MF towels I buy from detailing vendors!

    4. Value. Is the product a good buy? If a liquid product, how much per ounce? Does a little go a long way?
I think its a good buy. The quality is superb, and it really has me wondering if the whole MF maintinence is worth the extra work.

    5. Easy to use? Hard to use? Did you read the directions and use as directed?
Easy to use, wipes dried wax very cleanly, and didn't seem to add any scratches.

    MY VERDICT: I like it!

    Nice review!

What did you use it on?

Does it say that it is 100% cotton?

      Hi Boss,

I used it on a 2004 Nissan Altima, and a 2003 Lexus IS Sport Cross.

I just checked the packaging, it doesn't say whether or not its 100% cotton. It does say that it was made in China.

I already tore the tag off of mine but I *think* I remember that they are 100% cotton and the edges are polyester. What they don't do is mar the surface at all.

So, I'm guessing you used it on........... the paint!

          Did you notice any linting?

Let us know how it holds up and works on the paint after you used and washed it a couple of times.

These towels are pre-washed and there is absolutely no linting. They are so thick and absorbent it is incredible! I QD'd my entire car with one towel using the Speed Detailer and the towel barely even got damp!

Yes, the tag did say 100% cotton. One thing I like about these towels is that you get a sense of how slick the paint is. MF towels are real grippy and the paint does not feel slick with those as with terry towels.

IMHO these towels are a winner. They are very high quality and very absorbent! No marring or swirls either.

I have a couple of these towels as well. Very impressive! Even out of the package I didn't get any noticable linting. In addition, they are very soft. I used one in conjuction with the new Meguiars waffle weave towel to dry an F-150 and the combination of the two made very short work of it.

Since I normally wash with QEW, I would also like to see a 16 x 16 version of these towels since that size seems to work better in that situation.

My Meguiars distributor (Wash Solutions in Dallas) has some pretty good terry cloth towels but they certainly are not as soft as these new towels.

I have used and washed it several times. Still as good as new. I really like these for polish removal and hazing wax removal.

I bought a two-pack and used one for QD and the other for the interior. They were both used without washing and left very little lint...practically none. So I decided to buy a second two-pack. I used one on the glass. It left lint everywhere. My blue t-shirt practically turned white. So I went home and washed all my towels. The yellow MF towels had white lint all over them.

I hope that this was just one towel because as I said, i was very impresed w/the original pack. I just re-washed the towels and will check for lint again.

My feeling was these towels were almost too soft and that they did not make removing wax easier than a regular 100% cotton terry cloth towel. I used on the other day to try and take off #9 and had to switch to my old terry towels. I did however stick one in my golf bag, they are excellent for wiping your clubs and face down when walking 18 holes.
I haven't thought of using them to dry cars, I am still a leaf blower, california water blade man.

I also felt that the quality of these towels was really superb. My only gripe is that they made a seriously huge amount of lint, especially after I washed them for the first time. I washed four of them alone in the washing machine, without any other linens in there, and using only regular detergent. When I took them out of the wash, they were a mess! I'm sure this will improve with several washings however, so it's not the end of the world or anything. Apart form this, I am quite impressed with the quality of the materials and the overall construction of the towel. I only wish Meguiars could do something about the excessive lint, but maybe this is not possible without compromising the soft, plush texture? Not sure.

I haven't had a chance to use mine yet. Has the linting problem gotten any better or worse?

I hav several regularly used that I have likely washed up to 20 times. With each wash I think the linted dwindles. To the point where you only have ball or 2 to pluck off any given towel.

This linting is the same with any fabric. It will lint forever as time and wear & tear will eat away at it. Otherwise they could take the lint screen outta the dryer.

I can wash a load of standard towels and a load of Terrys side by side and I will say te standerd towels tend to lint more. But the lint itslef tends to be finer. The lint from Meg's Terrys seems to ball up into more of little pebble sized balls. Most of which will be in the dryer screen but some will actually stick the the towel but can be easily noticed and removed.

In my experience with drying new cotton towels, I have noticed that they tend to fill up the lint filter pretty heavy at first, and then it (lint) dwindles down some after the 1st or 2nd wash-dry cycle.

I might wash & dry mine before I use them.....Be interesting to see what shows up in the lint filter.
