  • New Ultra Plush Wash Mop

    Ultra Plush Wash Mop

I gotta say this thing is nice. The handle is all black.

The mop mitt is attached to the mop head with an elastic band. The mop head is plastic with a foam backing. The mop head is detachable like the other accessories. The mop head has a pretty good range of motion to it.

The telescoping handle has a nice locking feature that requires simply spinning the lower part of the handle less than a quarter turn. My old extendable mop has a plastic nut that torques down to lock in place. Of course the older mop handle is slipping now. I don't see this happening for a while with the new Plush Mop.

If this mop mitt holds as much soapy water as the Plush Wash Mitt we'll be in business. I will find out this weekend and report back the results with pics. I can't wait to give it a try.

      1. Packaging & Labeling. Is it well packaged? Are the labels durable?

The mop comes in a nice box that covers the mop head. My mop head wasn’t in the box properly when I received it though.

      2. Helpful instructions on label?

Similar instructions as found on the on the Wide Body Brush. Again the two bucket method is emphasized.

      3. Does product do what the manufacturer claims it does?

      Claims:

Telescoping handle easily extends for easy reach of any area. Yep. Piece of cake to extend on the fly while using.

Swivel head naturally articulates to any angle. Yep. The swivel is up and down plus side to side. My old target mop was just up/down.

Super softness and thickness prevents scratches and swirls. I already love the plush mitt and this is the same material as the mitt, so yes it is soft and doesn’t scratch.

Holds twice as much wash solution. Hard to quantify this but it holds plenty. Again very similar to the plush mitt.

      4. Value. Is the product a good buy? If a liquid product, how much per ounce? Does a little go a long way?

I think the price is $9.99. I’d like to have seen an extra mop head in the deal.

      5. Easy to use? Hard to use? Did you read the directions and use as directed?

Piece of cake to use. The mop was used as directed.

      6. If known, what is the pH of the product? Is it safe for enthusiasts or should it be for professional use only?

For use by anyone needing extendable reach to clean a car, truck, or suv.

      7. Describe the product smell, viscosity and other physical traits if any.

      See first post.

      8. Overall

Nice product. Leaves lots of suds to work with on the surface. I used my Werner work platform and washed the entire top of a Yukon from one side today. Very nice. I also washed a Santa Fe (or Fa not sure). The luggage rack on the Santa was pretty high of the roof so no problem with clearance. The Yukon was another story. The cross bars were alright but the frame rails were pretty tough to negotiate.

The foam rubber backing is very firm. This is good. This helps clean roof ridges and grooves.

With my old mop if I really had to stretch to reach an area, the mop would tip to one side and not have total contact with the surface. With the new Plush Mop, the mop head it stays in contact over the surface through the entire pass. Another interesting fact, the pad mop head contact is so good, there is a slight suction between the mop and the surface of the vehicle. I noticed when I tried to pull the mop off the surface to rinse.

Thank you. Did you have additional information that I missed. I was in hurry mode today and didn't take my time like I do on Sundays with my own vehicles.

              Scrub,
              I'd like to add something.

The handle is detachable and looks like it will fit the new Gold Class Versa Angle brushes. See the pics below.

Plus, I had an excellent time washing my Dakota. Washed all the tall areas and the tonneau cover from one side of the vehicle. Dramatically reduced my wash time!! Gonna use it on the Blazer this weekend!

It definitely does! This is already a favorite of mine. It applies the NXT soap very evenly and as a result, the water sheets and rolls off the surface quite nicely! An unexpected result, there was less standing water after I rinsed the paint off. The size of the mop head makes for a quicker wash time too!

I got to thinking about the detachable handle... If you flip the mop head over haven't you reversed the handle without removing the handle? Check my math on that one.

I was thinking the same thing when I used mine too. They probably wanted to standardize on one handle/brush/mop connection to keep things simple and make manufacturing more efficient.

yep and the handle is interchangable with all the new brushes.

WOW what a reach using the mop handle with the wheel face brush.

I really, really like this tool. I normally QEW wash my customer's cars but I have one customer who has a water deionizer at his office and he prefers I wash everything conventionally...and everything there is huge! Chevy trucks, Escalade, Expiditon, Rolls, BMW 7 series, etc. Using the wash mop is much easier and quicker than using a chenille pad and having to contantly move the ladder.

The mop head holds a lot of soapy water and you can remove it and toss it in the washing machine when it is dirty.

Of all the new Meguiars detailing tools I've tried, I like this on the best.

Well, that is certainly more high praise!

I have mine now, I hope to get a chance to try it out this weekend.
