  • quick interior detailer

I dont like to be the messanger that bears bad news but, I tried this detailer and all it did was leave my interior chalky. I dont know if I applied it wrong or what but it did not work for my interior. I usually use the meguiars vynyl conditioner (the red spray bottle) or NXT's vynil products. I still had traces of the other stuff on my dash, do you guys think that that is the reason for my dash turning chalky.

Beside that, I love all meguiars products.....

I am not impressed with the IQD at all, I've tried it about 4 times, too much work to be quick and the appearance is poor.

Hmmm, I'm just the opposite. It works wonders if you squeeze a couple sprays onto a MF towel and then wipe the areas you intend to "detail." What I have seen is that it removes the dust and leaves behind whatever protection was there before.

        Hi hpjunkie,

First things first, as this is your first post, we would like to welcome you to our online forum!

Second, we encourage feedback from our customers, either positive or negative as that helps us to steer our company in the right direction.

Third, although this is a brand new product on the market, to this date we've never heard of this type of result with this product as there is nothing in this product to produce these kind of results?

Just to make sure, we're talking about this product here,

If so, I encourage you to call Customer Care this morning at 1-800-347-5700 and let them know I asked you to call and they will send you out a free bottle to try again.

        Thanks,

        Mike

It works well for me, much like SpoiledMan, I always apply it to my MF towel and then wipe the surface. It can be difficult to work with if you apply it straight to the surface. I like it because it leaves a nice matte finish and actually has some UV protection.

That's the one mike, it came in the goodie bag. It's great on my wheels, but my dash just didn't respond well to it. And let me say "I love Meguiar's products!" So, dont think that im just here to put your stuff in a bad spot.

I did use a microfiber towel to apply the product, but I dont knowwhat happened. Probably it's just a defective bottle. Though rare it might be that.

Was your dash hot when you applied it? It says do not allow the product to self-dry, so if it was too hot, the product my have dried too quickly.

                Quick Interior Detailer Response

I have used the quick interior detailer on my vettes for awhile now and find it works great. I do not spray it on the dash or other areas, but on a micro towel first. No residue at all.

I too have had great results by spraying directly into a MF towel and then applying to the area. I have only used it on my dash for some reason, but today I did my door panels and consul and the results were great. I thought I was in a brand new truck when I drove to work today.

I have found mixed results with the Quick Interior Detailer. On the gray soft plastic of the dash and consul it worked great, but on the hard black surfaces I, too, ended up with a white chalky appearance. I always spray it on to a MF towel and then work it into a cool surface. Maybe I applied too much product to the black areas, but I don't really think so. The soft plastic areas did look great though.

I'm wondering if there is a bad batch out there. I used it on the interior of a Sienna over the weekend and every surface(plastic, dash, radio screen and plastic and the "plood") and the results were fantastic.
