  • NXT Paste, Speed Detailer, and Insane Shine

Thanks to some nice winter weather (for a change) I had a chance to try some of the new NXT Products for 2005.

The NXT Paste Wax provides great depth and reflectively, just like the liquid version, maybe even better. I would have to do a side-by-side comparison to be sure though. They both give great results though. Application was done by hand with a Gold Class foam applicator. An Ultimate Wipe was used for removal by hand. Application and removal was very easy, similar to the liquid, even in areas where too heavy of a coat was applied. Drying time was the same between the liquid and paste.

The only difficulty I had was opening the can after I had previously tightened it very hard . I actually dented it while opening it. Next time I will not overtighten it LOL! There is a gasket in the lid to help in sealing so there is no need to tighten it too hard.

The Insane Shine provides the best shine of any tire dressing I have used. Durability has been very good also, lasting through a few winter car washes. No other tire dressing has lasted that long for me!

Before I took the following pictures, the NXT Paste had 24 hours to cure. I used the NXT Speed Detailer to remove any dust that was on the car. It is very similar to Last Touch in gloss and slickness, which means both were excellent! It gave that "just waxed" look to the parts of the car that were not waxed recently.

The following pictures were taken with a Nikon D-70.

I give all three products a

Ok, I think I fixed it. But do the pictures need to be resized? I thought they were 600 X 799 pixels.

      Hey RamAirV1,

Great looking car!!!! I just LOVE that color of blue!! Beautiful gloss!

Your pictures are the right size as well! Thanks for the detailed write-up!! I too had trouble re-opening the lid of the NXT Paste Wax. Just make sure it is closed but do not over tighten! Trust me on that one!

Yeah, I had a funny feeling when I closed the lid the first time that it may have been to tight. Well at least I know it was just me. The lid does seal well though.

Thanks for the compliment! I have been very fortunate not having many swirl problems. I have not even needed #83 yet! I had to use it all the time on the TA because of the hood and more environmental problems. My biggest problems now are road crack sealant and tree saps (coming soon I suppose). Claying takes care of those but it's not my favorite detailing task.

NXT shows it's best capabilities on black, but it is the best LSP I have seen for other colors, including silver. MPPP works pretty good, but the NXT is a little bit better.

          Your results look fantastic!

I can't wait to get some warm weather up here so I can get outside and test out the new products.

          Great job!

            Thanks.

I was lucky to get a break in the weather. Hardly any snow in Feb. and March. April will probably be nasty to make up for it.

Thanks Tom. I also liked the fact I could get it with a blue interior. Black is just too hot in the summer time.

I've tried the Speed Detailer and the Insane Tire Shine but not the NXT Paste yet. I prefer to apply NXT via the PC so I'm not sure how the paste will figure in with that. Still won't stop me from trying it though.

Speed Detailer-smells similar to NXT wax and cleans pretty good for a QD product. It is easy on and off and I haven't had any problems with streaking. A real plus is it slightly darkens the paint.

Insane Tire Shine-very glossy tire shine. The sprayer is pretty accurate but I'd use it in the garage if it is windy out because you will get some overspray if you use it outdoors. I prefer a little less 'bling' but my customers sure seem to like how it looks and that is what really counts.

The Speed Detailer definitely does darken the paint. It adds a lot of slickness too.

Thanks for the compliment. Application and removal was by hand. I suppose the paste could be applied with a PC. A butter knife could be used to spread a thin layer on the buffing pad. The application and removal of the paste was surprisingly easy. It must be that glide factor that Mike talks about.
