  • Review of the new Gold Class Ultra Plush Wash Mitt

    Ultra Plush Wash Mitt.

I order this new Gold Class Accessory this week and gave it a try today. When i saw it on the web and in person I was like "man this thing feel rough". I was hesitant to use on my black truck but if Meguiar's made it, it must be okay. Right?

I gotta tell ya I love this wash mitt. I used an old school lambs wool wash mitt with this new wash mitt utilizing Hyper-Wash and the two bucket method with the Grit Guard Insert. The biggest difference I noticed between the wash mitts was the GC wash mitt transfered more sudsy water to the paint and it appeared to stick to the surface if the paint better and longer. I mean its a dramatic difference in suds and how long the suds last. I was going to take a picture to document but I was in a hurry. I'll be sure to take some pics tomorrow.

The Plush mitt does feel fuller than a lambs wool wash mitt. Like there's more material there. Plus the Meguiar's logo on the cuff is kind of cool too. When washing with the new mitt, it tends to stay spread out more so than a lambs wool mitt that tends to bunch up together.

Another nice feature is this mitt just eats up bugs and junk stuck on the paint. It gently removed the above surface contaminants fairly easy. For $4.99 its a steal. I'd give $7.99 for it.

I can't wait to try the wash mop version of that. It has a larger surface area than my Viking mop so it should speed up the washing process.

I meant $0.79 more for it. That would be a grand total of $5.78, hopefully with shipping!

Here's the pic I promised. The front door was the lambs wool. The rear door was the new plush wash mitt. I washed the rear door first then remembered I need a pic so I went got the camera then coated the front door with suds and then snapped the pic. Maybe 30 seconds of dwell time for the rear door. I think thats a big difference. Might not show in the pic but in person it was. I'll take some more on a darker vehicle.

                    Thank you.

Its like Meguiar's talked to detailers, carwashers, anyone who cleans cars and asked what can make things easier for you. I've tried a few new products and all work better than advertised.

                    More reviews to follow.

                      Nice writeup scrub
I got a few new Ultra plush wash mitts today and i had to wash the car right away to try one out. I must say i liked it alot better than the lambswool wash mitts I've been using. It's lighter, softer, easier to use and dries fast too. My lambswool mitts take almost a week to air dry.
And becouse it has no thumb, both sides can be used easily.

One thing i would like to know is how i should wash them, can i just throw them in the washer and dryer or shuold they be hand washed?

Mark2... just curious on how you washed your mitt if you got around to it yet (machine or hand wash).

I haven't washed it yet, seems like it rinses out quite clean with just water and the car wash. I still would like to know what Meguiars recommends for washing it.

Is this new mitt made of the same fibers as the older Gold Spun wash mitt?
