Ultimate polish eliminates a step in my process.

I'm not new to detailing and have been using #105/#205 as my correction products. #105 can be a PITA, but it works for serious flaws and #205 is great. I usually follow those up with #7 as it really makes the paint look wet, but it can be a PITA to remove.

Recently bought the Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Wax to try out. The UC works fine; not as aggressive as #105, but lots easier to use. It's the UP that I like because it seems to combine the best aspects of #205 and #7 and wipes off pretty easy. So, less work and one less step in my process.

To finish off, I still haven't tried the UW because my BFWD just looks so awesome, but I'll try the UW at some point because it's some $10 cheaper than BFWD.

Also tried ONR yesterday and love how it neutralizes my hard water and makes for an easy spot-free finish. I use a water wand before the wipedown, and the ONR seems to make the water/ONR solution RUSH off the paint, leaving very little left for a wipedown. Not sure if MEGS has a similar product. I could really care less about saving water, but this sure leaves a spotfree finish even with hard water and washing in the sun.

That is correct. #105 is really for brand new paints with lots of extra oils, so on regular or old paint, it will dry out faster. UC is more for regular paint.

I liked the UW when I used it... little different to apply.

I really like Ultimate Polish. Easy to apply and wipe off even in full, direct, hot sun.

I'm glad to hear this. I just bought a DA Polisher, and it should arrive on Wednesday. Would y'all suggest that I just go ahead and use Ultimate Compound, SwirlX, Ultimate Polish, and Ultimate Wax (in that order) on my car, instead of the 105/205 system? Do you think I will achieve the same/lesser results?

Personaly DA+UC with surbuff pads takes care of almost everything. follow up with m205 on hydro pads and i am ready for ipa wipe down and sealant or collnite 845 wax.

depending on what pads you use you go with UC then ulimate polish then a wax.

I'd try the Ultimate products before going to #105/#205. The #105 can have a steep learing curve compared to the UC. Make sure you use speed 5-6 with UC and UP, and travel s-l-o-w, like an inch per second or slower. I have a Griots 6" DA and it has lots more nuts than my old PC. Skip the SwirlX; I never need it.
Pad/product combos I use:

UC/Orange LC pad
UP/white LC pad
UW (I use BFWD)/ red LC pad

Some excellent points made in this discussion.

In my very limited experience, 105 easily removes severe cases of swirls and medium severity scratches with moderate effort. Ultimate Compound may get after the severe cases, but requires more user energy and patience. The downside of 105 can be dusting, often large size particles. Ultimate Compound can dust, but lesser amounts and smaller particles. So in my mind is the debate regarding effort required in correction and amount of time cleaning up the mess.

Ultimate Polish is a true wonder for me. I've used 7 a couple of times, the first very noob usage I did the whole side of a car. Removal was a bear. Since UP came out I use it all the time. Love it. Yes, it can be a step saver.

I also like SwirlX, good for clearing up micro-marring caused by 105 or UC and for me is a bit more aggressive the UP. Downside, it (SwirlX) is a bit of a nuisance to get out of the bottle.

Two thumbs up for the entire Ultimate line.

Just so you know, we don't recommend using UP this way. If it's worked OK for you like this, then fine, but for anyone else reading this we'd prefer you work on a cool surface in the shade.

M07 Show Car Glaze is sensitive to high temperatures/ high humidity. Use M05 New Car Glaze instead in those conditions.

You should be able to go UC, UP then UW (I use NXT 2.0) in that order.

I still keep 105 around, but found I haven't needed it since using UC.
